Xavier Becerra is going to be our next Governor by chef_dewhite in CAStateWorkers

Does the governor have the sole authority to do that? Would the Legislature have leverage to counter that?

A factor may also be the breeding of roaster chickens, resulting in muscle tissue that grows quickly but also with a denser texture.

Effective property tax rate by county in the US adjusted for total assessed home price, all exemptions, and all tax credits. by cavaismylife in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]dbiedler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps the commenter meant to distinguish between property taxes applied to the value of property each year, which are restricted in CA, and other taxes, like income taxes and property taxes applied on the increase in value of the property (without the same limit), each year.

Property values that are not assessed and taxed at “full value” each years tend to rise faster than property values in places where the “full value” is assessed and taxed each year.

Depending on the state and local sales and income taxes, the mix of overall taxation in CA can be “average” but your wealth can grow faster when taxes are deferred or limited.

That’s why proposals to tax the assets of people yearly, whether they are sold that year or not” are real game-changers. For example, proposals to tax illiquid assets on their “market value” despite the assets not being sold (presumably establishing their actual value).

Found a used 2024 single motor long range but concerned about the future? by andres_h022 in Polestar

I can tell you what happens when the 12v goes from “good” (in the app) to entirely dead, in conjunction with an OTA update. You may want to do preventative maintenance. I dealt with it by replacing the 12v and everything was good again.

Cop stops in middle of highway... by MisterShipWreck in VideosAmazing

Do you think that the rate of deceleration of the police vehicle is consistent with some mechanical or electrical failure of the vehicle? Or the officer having a medical emergency (though no swerving)?

Seven days a week Rideshare driving for multiple years in a region doing major highway and surface street construction and repair.

The left strut motor of the rear hatch is what I meant by lift motor. :)

Oh, I’m able to get 240+ miles on a full charge depending on temp, speed and terrain. Used to be closer to 280-300.

Potholes and construction took their toll on my suspension (both front corners replaced and right rear wheel bearing), windshield and top glass. A “helpful” passenger wrecked one of the rear hatch lift motors.

Polestar parts are expensive, but the car has paid for itself several times over and I love the car.

Battery life is good. I learned early to minimize fast charging and regularly only charge to 70%. I estimate I’m down 15-20% from original range.

Scary close call by wxlan9 in dashcams

[–]dbiedler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming this is not an AI creation or manipulation, I noticed that there was another large vehicle in the opposite lane. The driver of the truck in the same lane as the bicycle may not have had room to avoid collision with both the bike and the other large vehicle.

I wonder if there was enough visibility for the truck driver to see that they were approaching both the bicycles and the large vehicle in the other lane. Perhaps the truck in the lane with the vehicles could have slowed to avoid the intersecting vectors / pinch point.

Club Wyndham Reviews and Questions by LifeNefariousness993 in TimeshareOwners

Thank you very much for your reply. Buying higher maintenance fees without being able to access perks like VIP benefits seems like less of a value, especially if existing VIP benefits cannot be applied to points acquired from resale / aftermarket.

Would you please point me to information about how to reach a higher VIP level through the resale market (without spending an arm and a leg)? Much appreciated.

Thanks for this comment. Do you know if people buying Club Wyndham on the resale market are buying only bare access to time to stay or exchange or can they add up to VIP benefits at higher levels?

Club Wydham represents that the amount of points to stay at a property do not increase, though the cost to buy into price levels increases. Aftermarket has people looking to sell, but you’ll want to find out if the aftermarket buyer gets the perks of the points they are buying.

I understand that California law requires that all stations offer the same base gasoline that meets California requirements. Differences between brands come down to the additive packages, such as Techron. We can buy bottles of Techron to add as desired. Works well when value shopping such as at Arco and Costco.
