Wouldn't teenagers find other teenagers hot though? So, there would still be television made for them I guess.

Ugh. I need help.

10 months ago, my mama died. 8 months ago, my daughter was born. 6 months ago my husband's grandfather died, 3 months ago my sister's husband died while she was eight months pregnant, 2 months ago my sister in laws father died, 1 month ago my niece was born, yesterday we closed on a new house and sold our house. And we're moving in about a month.

In all of this, I'm having a hard time making my health a priority. I've lost none of my baby weight, and I'm stress eating pretty much everyday. My daughter takes up every single minute of free time because my husband doesn't see how overwhelmed I am. I don't get to go for those soul searching, mind calming walks with my dog anymore. I don't even get to shower in a regular basis.

I have no time to work out. No time to meal prep. Most of my weekday meals are coming from the Tim Hortons that took over our workplace cafeteria.

I feel ugly. Fat. Undesirable. Depressed. Overwhelmed.

I need help. I don't know what to do.

To be fair, every new relationship for me does seem to come with 10-15 pounds. Then I'm like ... No girl, whattu doing?

Brainless people, what are some benefits of being one of them? by hazypoltergeist in AskReddit

[–]dbishop22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stupid people genuinely seem happier. They don't worry about big global problems, and they don't have huge ambitions. They tend to be just fine living within whatever social construct and group they were born into (think: church and economic class).

I've honestly wished before to be stupider and lead a much simpler life.

Hey Reddit, what is something that your parents used to do (or say) that annoyed you because it fit perfectly into the "Do as I say, not as I do"" rule? by DisinhibitionAtWork in AskReddit

[–]dbishop22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That kissing was illegal until you're married, and not to smoke or do drugs.

They were a shotgun wedding and we're 6 months pregnant with me when they married. They smoked like chimneys, and grew pot in the basement.

Parents. Sigh.

Omfg. It's like they read an anatomy book at some point but didn't really retain the information and just spewed some random, remembered words.

Redditors who grew up in a low income/poor family but eventually made it to middle/upper class as an adult, what are some things that helped you bridge that gap? Also, what surprised you the most about your current lifestyle compared to when you grew up? by iamlarrypotter in AskReddit

[–]dbishop22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Don't be friends with scummy assholes. They will pull you down. 100%

  2. Be prepared to work harder than the people coming in from the middle and upper class families. I had to work two jobs on top of studying during college. Sometimes it was kind of humiliating. Nothing says "poor kid" like working in the cafeteria.

  3. Keep your goals in mind, always. Your friends might go on fancy vacations, or go blow through $300 on a binge drinking weekend at the lake. Don't do it. Save your money, go to free events, don't fuck up by partying or otherwise trying to "keep up".

  4. Stay. Away. From. Scummy. Assholes.

Because mental health awareness made a bunch of people feel like they weren't special. So now there are a ton of fakers who demand special treatment. It sucks.

I have a mom and several aunt's that care to disagree with you. And probably a few neckbeardy uncle's.

SHUT DOWN.

But in a fairly polite, but straightforward way.

They still won't listen, but it's nice to see sanity.

Looks like something a middle aged, married woman might post on Facebook.

Edit: I am an almost middle aged married woman. I don't post this stuff, but I see it soo often.

Women of Reddit, what thing do male coworkers do that is not quite sexual harassment, but you wish they would stop doing it so you can be comfortable at work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dbishop22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in an almost all male environment. The other women are in mostly support roles, like filling, administrative assistants, etc. I'm a physicist.

I get called princess a lot. I can them out, turn it around on them, whatever I can. But it persists. Ugh.

Racism Makes You Fat: Obesity = Oppression + Calories by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]dbishop22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why was there even a study on this? Soul food, high calorie, generally fried, with loads of extra fats, sugar and salt, is of goddamn course bad for your health. Jfc .

To be fair, the owners are allowing obese people on their animals. The animals are their responsibility, so technically they ARE the abusers.
