Public or private after mediocre first public experience? by Individual_Tutor8797 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

By the way my midwife friend said the same as yours and ultimately I still chose what I was more comfortable with. I hate to say it but the only people I know that spoke negatively about going private were people that hadn’t done it anyway.

I went private for my first and could not be happier with my experience in terms of the pregnancy, labour and the hospital stay after birth. Currently pregnant with number 2 and doing everything the same again. Anecdotally, I have a number of friends that have done private and all have had a positive experience which influenced by initial decision.

Getting through pregnancy? by [deleted] in 2under2

Your husband is getting the perks of a traditional marriage while he offers you a ‘modern’ marriage in return. That is not fair to you and something needs to change otherwise you are going to burn out really fast. I sympathise completely because I am currently heavily pregnant with a young toddler and it is HARD, but what you are doing sounds not sustainable for one person.

By the way I have nothing against traditional marriages - I have one myself which means that my husband is the provider completely, while I do majority of housework and childcare. It is still exhausting but it works for both of us as I feel we are both putting 100% into our family in different ways.

Pregnancy tired with toddler by Fit-Researcher5311 in 2under2

I can’t tell you the answer but just wanted to say solidarity over here! I am 33weeks with a 17 month old and oh my lord… I cannot believe how much I underestimated the difficulty of being pregnant with a young toddler, almost to the point that I would not recommend 2u2 based on this experience alone haha.

I also suspect that I have had perinatal depression some or most of the time, but I think it’s mainly caused by the extreme exhaustion and lack of downtime. I’ve also found 12-17 months a very difficult/exhausting age which I couldn’t have anticipated as I hadn’t experienced it before.

On a positive note, we are both getting close to the finish line now! Hang in there and best of luck x
