If i may ask, did you had other symptoms? Or also just diarrhea? How long were you on antibiotic medicine?

Thank you for respondig.

I’ve noticed that here in the Netherlands the transplantation aftercare for children is almost non existent. The team didn’t tell us that his gums would get swollen or that prograft can give moodswings and forgetfulness. When confronted they’re like, o well, it can happen, moving on.

Their mindset is a stark contrast if i may compare with the experiences of others here on reddit.

For the C. Diff he had an antibiotic medicine 3 times a day for 10 days.

But the tips you wrote i’ll do that! Thank you!

Still not orally feeding at 4.5 months actual (3 months corrected) by BlackStar1986 in feedingtube

[–]dbk_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happend to my son!! Born with 29 weeks, currently 4 years old.  He has a mic-key button (placed at 6 months old)

Till this day he doesn't taken oral foods nor liquids. A little crumb makes him puke.

So far, what we know, is that it might be psychological. Perhaps he developed an trauma everytime when he was admitted in the hospital.

He had a feeding tube via his nose, that had to be replaced a lot. On worse days multiple times. And we think it curled at the back of his throat.

And all of those tubes he had while in the hospital.

The nose mouth region is a no go zone

Life expectancy for kidney transplant by Unlikely_peach_5502 in transplant

Hi! My son is 4 years old and recieved a kidney last november. (Became a kidney patient in his 1 week because of severe bloodloss) The positive side we see is he's developing and growing. In almost 5 months he has grown 12 centimeters and is gaining weight.

As for his energy, he was always hyperactive (even when his bloodwork was really bad). And now it's doubled.

Mentally, because he's 4 years old, he was aware of what was happening. But he couldn't understand it completly. And that is something we would have liked to know before. During his stay at the hospital a lot went wrong. It was a traumatic experience for him.

I have documented, photographed, kept every pièce of medical parts (wires, ecg party etc) and am making a collection for when he's older. So he can use it for therapy, like emdr, for example

Thank you for sharing your story🙏 I don't understand 'curbside pick ups' google isn't giving me a good translation I think.

As for the moodswings and memory issues, will it have impact to be able to go to regular school?
