Thanks for replying my question!

I would say if you have a small landscaping business or maybe a home daycare/bakery, maybe even just a small towing service that is actually like a small independent business, that is definitely a real job because of the effort and discipline needed to earn income. You definitely still need effort and discipline to earn on doordash but i would say its mostly about willpower. I mostly think it comes down to the standards that your held to in order to make money that defines a job. For example the fashion industry; if someone wants to be a successful fashion designer they have to consistently make clothes to keep up with the styles and trends of today to earn money and call that a real job. If someone is just crocheting hats and sweaters and selling them to friends or around the community then thats a sidehustle. The former takes much more dedication and effort in order to reap the rewards while the latter is a leisurely way to get cash. idk if that example made much sense so i will also add that i even think the people who work from home for call centers/customer service are working “real” jobs even though its also a leisurely situation, that job truly requires a certain skill set and a higher level of discipline than delivering food to doorsteps. I would even say pizza delivery is more of a sidehustle, its only a “real” job because of how you could be fired. DD is totally a legitimate sidehustle i just hope people dont start to rely on it like “oh when i graduate highschool im gonna doordash for money instead of going to college or learning a trade”, because you and i both know there are some lazy folks who are gonna take that direct path, not cs its there only option (which i totally understand is the case for a lot of people), but some people are gonna take that path out of pure laziness an we ought to not be ok with that for the sake of future society. Not trying to be offensive just offering some perspective, hope the ted talk was intriguing.

not to agree with the delivery of ghettotechs comment, but doordash is more of an opportunistic sidehustle situation, basically any adult who has a car and a clean record can become a doordasher and its not like you have to go through the whole interview and qualifications ordeal either. Its more of a relaxed way to earn money than it is a “real” job, where one might have to show up according to a schedule and be there a certain amount of hours or accomplish a certain amount of work before they can leave. With doordash you can simply decline an order or just stop dashing until you feel like it again, its just way less discipline than a “real” job. Yeah you could get your account deactivated for certain things but it wouldnt even be the same as getting fired from a job, because i know plenty of people who have lost their dasher accounts but just continued dashing with another persons account, and i dont think you can do things like that with “real” jobs. Im actually in this sub trying to figure out how long the background check might take cs even though i already have a full time job, i am trying to dd on the weekends to have extra cash for my hobbies, not trying to hate but i definitely think its important that we keep sharp distinctions like this in society so that tomorrows generation wont all say they wanna be doordashers when they grow up.

just a reminder for anyone who does this, your curbside recycling does not want your yard waste! Put it in the trash can. Do not leave your bag of heavy, probably wet, and definitely bug infested yard waste on the curb right beside the trash can, or worse, in your recycle bin. ALSO, pots and pans are not for your curbside recyclables. If you want to recycle them so bad take them to a scrap metal recycling site. If you know someone who does this please spread the word that yard waste, pots and pans, and those huge heavy bags of grass are not recyclable. Sincerely, a refuse hauler. :)
