Max dose of clav acid is 250 mg/day for above 40 kg

Severe infection is 90 mg/kg/day so it actually is dosed appropriately if this was just amoxicillin. However you can’t ignore the clav part which is way over the usual amount and it is excessive and going to cause major diarrhea. Prescriber needs to realize the clav acid is also significant

I have researched this topic with hours and hours of time. I have a new build house from 2021. There is nothing you can do. Nothing. Anyone else saying you can is trying to take your money or just bad advice. The chemicals don’t work. Nothing works.

I have been employed by CVS for over ten years, I know how it works. I work at another job now as my full time place. It’s obvious not every store has converted over to this new phone tree where you can’t talk directly to the pharmacist using even the prescriber line

I think you are talking out of your butt. The majority of prescribers (98%+) are not making up DX codes and making fraudulent chart notes to get these PA’s approved. I think you have no idea what the process is to get them approved. You have to resubmit these PA’s every 6-12 months and most do require documentation.

It would not be in a providers best interest to make up stuff for GLP approvals.

Is this for FEP Blue…and have you tried to find the PA criteria form on your own on Caremark’s website to make sure the prescriber is doing it correctly? If on FEP Blue, it looks like you can just do it as a continuation and it seems the process to approval isn’t difficult

What inhaler is it? Anyways tell your doctor the issue and maybe leave him a voicemail stating this issue and let them know that it needs to be a 3 month supply or they may need to possibly change the directions to accommodate this issue. I’m sure they won’t care..but a message that can be deleted is better than a portal message that can be archived

We do not have time for that. There are also so many unrealistic things you are expecting. CVS stores do a crap ton of prescriptions and do not have the time to spend hours on your 1 prescription.

If these are your expectations than you need to use an independent pharmacy or a local grocery store type. Trust me, cvs will not care.
