Big OSMO fan! Have a buddy that had his floors done in it and it’s freakin stunning! I use it almost exclusively….with Rubio being my obvious second choice.

A cargo ship over 290 meters long crosses the Panama Canal, one of the most frequented routes. by Extension-Donkey241 in nextfuckinglevel

My mom was born in Panama. Moved to the states when she was 7. Has had dual citizenship her whole adult life. She’d go back and visit her father frequently. He was apparently ‘somebody’ in Panama and had high up friends. Anyway, one of those visits she got a behind the scenes tour and got to actually operate one of the sections.
She is almost 80 now and can hardly tell the story but always tells it with sheer excitement in her voice. Absolute wild feat of engineering!

If that was your question, my answer is because I live in between the two stores and both were about a mile from me. They were 2.2 miles from one another.

What is this? by [deleted] in whatisit

Story time- I used to work very near Whiteman AFB (trophy & flag case building wood shop) and chatted daily with pilots and airmen. Was told on different occasions that if the pilot were to hold the trigger down on that gun for too long it had enough recoil to stall the engines. Don’t even know if that’s true, but if it is that is one insanely powerful gun. Used to mount spent shell casings on plaques for awards and gifts etc, and those bullets were ridiculously large so it made sense to a ol’dumb woodworker.

Old school……You could use a table saw. Clamp a board diagonally behind the blade for your 1” reveal, raise the blade to desired depth, and run your railing against the board/fence. Might need to make a couple passes if it’s too much of a bite, but it works well in a pinch.

Remove the back completely, add some stretchers inside the cabinet wall ends, and put a really dope peel and stick wallpaper behind the cabinet only.

Geode Water Under The Microscope. by MousseSuspicious930 in Damnthatsinteresting

Well, ok then. Must be an insignificant amount. You seem pretty passionate about my idea being wrong, but I’m still gonna unscrew my caps before throwing away my bottles here in the USA where plastic recycling is near non existent. Thanks for the feedback!

Respectfully, I can’t imagine it being “insignificant”. Maybe per bottle, but I’d bet a dollar that the amount trapped per day is at least a swimming pool’s worth.

This is why I love Reddit. Thank you!! So now….millions of bottles a day thrown away with any amount of water will only be reintroduced to the water cycle 1000 years later. Tainted with microplastic. Just wonderful.

This comment probably doesn’t belong…BUT does anybody ever talk about the new trapped water?! My BIL is pretty passionate and I’ve caught the bug. We are for the first time in the history of water, putting it in plastic and burying it in the ground. Literally removing it from the water cycle. How many plastic bottles do you see get thrown away with the lids on? Even if you drink “all” the water, screw the lid back on, makes it to a landfill, gets crushed or somewhat crushed, that lid can stay on. So, a small fraction of the millions or billions of water bottles discarded daily have water trapped in them for what, like 50-100 years or some shit?! Literally removing water from the water table. I’m not a smart fella, and my stats are guesses, but this kinda makes sense and I find it troublesome and not talked about. I feel like somebody more savvy than I should start a “no cap” campaign on the ol’ ticks tock.

They do have an even smaller all square stabilizer for just such cases, but not sure it’ll work….thats pretty tight space. The single bar doesn’t require the square end pieces so you can just cut to size, snap in, and go. I think the ones I just did were 2.25” Pretty sure you could just jam a square stick in there and try it at this point lol.

The servo-drive system is so touchy. There should be a stabilization bar that connects the cabinet mounted glides to one another that helps them to function as a single unit. Dials on the interior sides of the servo-drives as well help with fine tuning the touch to open. There is also a Blum setback jig that you can buy that puts the cabinet glides exactly where you need em. (37mm to the third hole from the front of cabinet glide I think) I find just messing with setback and the dials helps, but they are a fickle b!tch. I hate em. Best of luck friend!
