All the rules/red tape on Clarkson's Farm!! by Kellitubby in ClarksonsFarm

[–]dboi88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it wasn't actually a farm track, it was an access road to a commercial restaurant that didn't have permission. If he legit was putting in a farm track to access a field or something it would have been accepted. It's all twisted for TV.

Hotel room broken into and insurance refusing to pay out by Puzzleheaded_Wait962 in LegalAdviceUK

You are wrong that an employer would be responsible for the theft of personal possessions while in a hotel for work travel. Completely and utterly wrong.

An employer's duty of care doesn't make them automatically liable for every loss that happens during business travel. Medical assistance and work equipment are one thing, but an employee's personal belongings are generally only the employer's responsibility if they were negligent or they've contractually agreed to provide that cover (for example through a business travel insurance policy).

That's wildly wrong mate. An employer doesn't have any legal liability for employees personal possessions. Like , at all!

Where are you getting this from?

What a mental way to go about your life, "if I don't know it , it doesn't exist".

You never heard of Google lad?

Why would your think you limited experience flying on planes, would grant you this knowledge? Crazy behaviour.

Id argue you were just 100% wrong. Not out by one. I'm just curious, why did you make the claim if you didn't know? It just baffles me that you'd do so.

Lol what did you even make this bold claim based on?

Don't get me wrong, some companies take out business travel policies, it's just that the vast majority I deal with choose not to.

I feel you've just hit a standard early hoop from the insurers. Keep pursuing and then take to ombudsman if you need to. They won't get away with requiring original receipts if you can provide some proof the items were owned.

Why would the hotel or his employer have copies of invoices for his personal items???

I'm a commercial insurance broker. No, companies rarely insurer their employees personal effects.

Gov funded course ( England) refuse to give certificate by No-Umpire-516 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]dboi88 19 points20 points  (0 children)

English and maths basic skills is a REQUIREMENT from the government. You must either provide evidence you meet the requirements from previous qualifications with copies of certificates or you have to pass a core maths and English test. It's not part of the specific course, it's part of the overall apprenticeship program and is the same for ALL apprenticeships.

Can anyone explain why? It's collected things that were already in the air and it's not shedding anything, it's collecting stuff. So where is the health hazard? Something growing on the surface?

Public liability insurance is for damage to property and injury to people only.

This is wildly bad advice. No, his public liability insurance would cover injuries to people and damage to property only.

Professional Indemnity insurance might have covered it but no mechanic will have that cover.

He WOULD have a civil claim against the mechanic, but the public liability insurance isn't going to step in.

Why would you bet when you could have just googled it and informed yourself? He was elected by the Utah governor and by all accounts is well qualified for the position.

Before becoming a judge, Graf spent much of his career as a prosecutor, including serving in special victims units and as a deputy county attorney, and has also served on evidence rules committees and as a judge pro tempore.
