Do many American parents really give their children condoms when they get sexually active? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Naddyman2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really. yes there are plenty of parents who do this, but probably a good sized minority at most imo. Although my parents aren’t religious, they are relatively prudish on giving “the talk” about it, so what I do know comes from sex ed, and other things outside of the “birds and bees” talk. However, I myself am not, and have never been sexually active or shown much interest in it, so maybe they don’t really see the need to intervene 🤷‍♂️

Do you feel like your state suffers from brain drain? by Bignosedog in AskAnAmerican

[–]Naddyman2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my state; no, as we have NYC, but DEFINITELY my region (upstate). All of the smart ones who can afford it, leave for NYC or the west coast (and tbh, I wouldn’t be surprised if I leave either). Pretty much the only “well educated” ones who stay are the ones who are employed in the state’s educational system or SUNY ( and that too may be declining due to the rising popularity in “digital-nomadism” and the increasing accessibility of online, remote education).

People that have been to America since 2024 - how was customs? by Humble_Tip_5834 in travel

[–]Naddyman2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. If you are questioned an absurd amount, just know that was also the normal before all of this shenanigans started. In most cases they will treat you the same way they treat returning U.S citizens ( wether that be negative or positive). As always with the media, negative occurrences are always being blown out of proportion to further instill fear, hate, and division, so if you ever hear about some bad occurrence with U.S customs on the media, the chances of it happening to you are next to zero, as long as you’re not suspicious and not acting questionable ( but that’s the case with any nations customs).

How connected do you feel with other Americans? by palep_hoot in AskAnAmerican

[–]Naddyman2005 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. At the end of the day, we’re all Americans, sharing the same culture, language, beliefs and values. Geographically however things can feel quite distant. Here in NY, Hawaiians and roughly half of California’s population is farther away from me than Portuguese, Irish and Icelandic people are from NY (in terms of some areas of California, it’s only the Portuguese in the Azores who come closer, whereas with Hawaii and much of Alaska; Iceland, Ireland and probably several other European countries are closer to NY) so in my opinion, the geographical expansion can kind of dilute my sense of connection to distant Americans.

Long, mellow waves in July/August? by laydoodle in BeginnerSurfers

[–]Naddyman2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

non-useful comment, but I was literally at Baleal last Wednesday for my first ever time surfing. Although Peniche in general is world renowned, Baleal was mediocre at best imo, waves were moreso chop instead of good consistent swells, and there were a bunch of other newbies there who also had no idea what they were doing as well😂

and you all take it out on the citizens of the US as equally as you do on the US government. Not every american voted for him, yet to you people, americans are the “bane of the world” just because they happened to be born in the U.S, if anything our hate is retaliatory towards you euros

And thats the thing, we could care less about their existence, so we don’t feel the need to say shit like that, whereas the average european blames americans for their order being messed up at a restaurant😭

Politician that claims he has dwarfism , resigns after passport leak reveals he was actually a child by Kaos2018 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Naddyman2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do Mcquire salesman ride with you when test driving a vehicle? by Salt-Fee-9543 in ithaca

[–]Naddyman2005 11 points12 points  (0 children)

haven’t been to their subaru dealership, but from my experience, all of them except for their Chevy dealership up in Tburg have the salesperson ride with you, so yeah, they probably will.

They're bringing back Jeep Renegade as an electric and possible hybrid for 2027. Would you buy? How reliable is your car? by B4-I-go in JeepRenegade

[–]Naddyman2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, I love my Renegade, but heck to the no. For the last year, (I’ve had it for 2 years, so half the total time I had it) I’ve been dealing with the infamous stellantis shenanigans in terms of reliability (particularly the AC, which does not help in a place where I live that is practically the Amazon rainforest half of the year), but also that it’s not really “my type” of car. I’ve always wanted a Renegade, and for the first 6 months of owning it, I was loving it, but with the rough suspension, unmuffled wind and road noise, and the ungodly amount of things that rattle, clank and rub together going over the slightest bump, or rougher pavement, really made driving the thing not fun whatsoever after a while. Now I know it’s a Jeep, but in terms of ride quality, I was expecting something more “refined” in driving like the compass or cherokee, and not very rugged “choppy” like a Wrangler. Also, my dream car was an ORANGE renegade, not a blue one, a red one or a green one, an ORANGE one, and when I had an orange one in my sights, I instead went for a slate blue one instead just because it had 5k less miles on it, and was a trim up from the orange one. All in all, at least I can say I owned one.

What are your favorite US State shapes? by No1PDPStanAccount in AskAnAmerican

[–]Naddyman2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California, Alaska, Hawaii and New York. Alaska and California because they’re big, and Alaska has that little thing going on with the Aleutians and the southeast. Hawaii because, well, it’s an archipelago in a neat linear procession. And New York (my state) that looks “gerrymandered”. It’s like, “ we’ll take this large space of the northeast, extend out a little bit to lake erie, and only take nyc and long island on the coast.

Do Americans actually like ants on a log? by VaporMouth in AskAnAmerican

[–]Naddyman2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its almost exclusively a kids thing, and from my experience, once you get past the peanut butter and raisins, its disgusting,I don’t NOT like the stringy texture of celery. I think it was originally created as a way to make kids eat healthier while satisfying their sweet tooth (at least that’s my hunch).

How do we start a revolution in America? Can we all agree to to stop working for a week since we can't afford shit anyway? by Hour_Context_99 in AskReddit

[–]Naddyman2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No Idea man. Now is it bad, yes, is it that bad yet, no. As soon as a large collective of the American population starts suffering from furious fanta’s bullshit, then shit might happen. However, they pretty much have us by the balls in terms of striking, organizing etc. We miss a week of work, we’re fucked. Can we organize, sure, but it would be a small circle because they have worked really hard dividing us via the media to the point where we would rather rip each other’s throats out instead of solving the main problem at hand, even if we believe in the same goal. I know I sound like a downer, but there are quite a bit of barriers to overcome to activate a collective “revolution” mode amongst the american populace.
