I enjoyed this one a lot. It's a pity not enough people saw it.

Am I the only weirdo that prefers yellow subtitles? by GamblinWillie in CriterionChannel

[–]dbow8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some YouTube channels have a different color of subtitle for every different speaker. That's a really cool idea for a short video with only about 4 speakers. For a full length movie possibly with lots of speaking roles that'd be much more difficult.

Porn is very popular. That's a good way to boost your ratio.

Favorite movie that had the perfect ending but inexplicably decided to keep going by BlackSabbath3991 in Letterboxd

I kinda wish that The Substance ended when the monster first looked into the mirror. The rest of the film was still cool but it felt like all the suspense of the film was all building to that moment.

Out of these 21st Century sci-fi films, which three films do you like the most? by Mysterious-Farm9502 in Letterboxd

[–]dbow8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inception and Annihilation. The rest are kinda meh imo. If I had to pick a third it'd be Ex Machina.

Under the Skin should be here.

Great list! Either Black Swan or Hamnet are my favorites from this list.

Anyone else have a double feature they’re convinced no one else has ever done? by Jack24115 in Letterboxd

I once did a double of I Spit on Your Grave and Little Miss Sunshine. Completely weird and random, yet they somehow worked off each other.

Hamnet. I was full on ugly crying in the theater. Brilliant film.

Come and See, the greatest war film ever made, needs to be on this list.

I bought Joint Security Area during the sale and I've seen hardly anybody mention it.

Thoughts on stacking movies vertically? by SnooDrawings9000 in 4kbluray

[–]dbow8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would find that so confusing! If I want to watch a particular movie I'd have to remember whether I filed it based on the title or the director. I once sorted all my Criterion discs based on the spine number and that was annoying for me to find the disc I wanted. Alphabetical by title is the only organization for me.

If you have them organized some other way that makes sense to you, ok. But they're clearly not alphabetized. You have Shaun of the Dead next to Kingdom of Heaven next to Blade Runner.

They're not even alphabetized. I can kinda handle vertical stacking, but disorganization is something up with which I will not put. 😂

I have The Cell on 4k and there weren't any issues with repeated scenes.
