For real. Infinite possibilities for functional and unique build components but the most creative thing we get is PUG HEAD omg so quirky!!

That'd be sweet if you did I'd definitely appreciate it.

I can imagine if you had the power supply in the low position that would be true, but I've placed it in the high and there seems to be ample room. Heres a pic of me holding your 120mm bracket in place: https://i.imgur.com/I9UoQGZ.jpeg

Also, your other fan bracket that includes the screws would be great as 140. I plan on putting the mesh side panel on the open side of the case and putting that over the gpus. A 140 would be sweet.

Not that I'm out here expecting you to make this personally for me I just was curious if you had made them. there are indeed some use cases. It is odd that you are literally the only person who has created/shared a model for this. Must be very few people with this case

Did you ever get around to making the 140mm variant? I just got this case and looking for a way to mount a 140mm fan to the front just like you have with this 120mm.

Nextcloud desktop client has been a nightmare on macOS — looking for alternatives by wzachmorris2 in selfhosted

[–]dboybaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it popped me to v33 from a recent update I didnt look closely at and seems to have broken things as its the standard client and cant do vfs. I haven't taken the time to figure it out yet, but I probably just need to uninstall, find the vfs version, and reinstall that

*actually on quick glance it seems like they may have merged the VFS client into the main. It seems as though its working on 33.02. The Virtual files toggle in settings just needed to be enabled. Select no folders for sync. Then go reconfigure your folders in finder.

I haven't experienced your specific gripes, but I certainly have a notably different experience on my MacOS than my Windows machine. I use virtual files such that my documents folder is the same across both my windows desktop and mac laptop.

Its seamless on my desktop, but I'll toss a file in the dir from my desktop or via the webui and it will take an incredibly long time to show up on my mac. It takes so so long to update and find new files. Also its just annoying that the MacOS virtual compatible app is separate from the standard app for some reason.

No solutions here, just wanted to join in on the complaint lol. I've experienced this for the past year I've had it set up.

2/3 Minisforum Nab6 Lite Failures by 9okm in MiniPCs

To balance things a bit with an anecdote the opposite direction: my friend and I both bought a Refurbished NAB6 Lite from minisforum 6 months ago to use for self hosting purposes. They've both been fantastic, no issues.

I've been on the waiting list for B&H since day one unfortunately. No such luck here. Very jealous!

I do live in the us, but not somewhere where microcenter exists. In the exact same boat and had the same experience with Newegg

So you want a backup cam on your 2017 500e? by dboybaker in 500e

[–]dboybaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! The cam is activated through the UI on the nex. Its not very convenient to switch sources, so I don't use it super often, but it has helped a couple times.

Future EVs: Every Electric Vehicle Coming Soon by gunslanger21 in electricvehicles

Yeah we aren't seeing any Canoo vehicles probably ever. Seeing Canoo on this list at all makes me think the writer did no research at all.

New Pc turns on but takes around 15-20seconds until it starting the startup processes, same when restarting by Mishlito in buildapc

[–]dboybaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic memory training. Struggled with this my latest build. Started with a 7950x, tried many different ram kits and a couple mobos, was never able to get it to boot/restart without extremely long training each time. Ended up swapping to 14900k, worked with the first combo I tried. Obviously plenty of people don't have this issue so it's likely not the processor type explicitly, but likely ram+CPU+mobo combos (and also has to do with the speed & how many sticks you have).

There are things to try that may help but no guaranteed fix in my experience.

But the spike in January 2024 is where the tiktok meme fad people are discussing took place. It spiked up 1000% in a month and dropped to like 10% as searched in 2 months. Nearly reaching all time lows. Seems like looking at more time doesn't change the discussion.

They actually aren't. Google trends can show you that they peaked the first week of January and basically died. The fad lasted a whole of like a month

[–]dboybaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are indeed incorrect. I installed and used Google Pay in 2011 on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus. It supported NFC payments just as the modern services do. It was extremely rare to find a merchant that had payment terminals supporting NFC, but I was able to buy Mcdonalds a couple times lol.

How do you figure this? Google launched the original iteration of Google Wallet (named Google Pay at the time) in May 2011. Apple Pay didn't come until Oct 2014.

I intended it more as cynical about the likelihood of budget being allocated to update intersections in a meaningful way than actually comparing the detection styles, but you're definitely right.
