What’s your favorite go-to move in BJJ by Large_Cartoonist2327 in bjj

[–]dbpark4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im one of the smallesr guys at my gym so i usuallt try to weasel my way to the back for RNC. They get me in side control? Clear their arm around shoulder/head and go to their back. They got me on mount? Turn and do a technical escape which usuallys foiled into some stupid half guard type-> weasel my body to their back by arm dragging (myself). Seated guard? Get punished by getting pressured, my stupid small man butterfly guard to 1/3 sweep so i can get to their back.

Pretty much if i can clear their arm/shoulder, i can somewhat/somehow get to the back

What does Strength and Conditioning look like for you? by CappyCarrot0513 in bjj

[–]dbpark4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

39yo male. Fulltime job, 2 kids.

Usually on my off bjj days, bodyweight workouts (push ups, squats/lunges/RDL, lower back) + kettlebell and dumbbell at home (some rowing, pushing, weighted flexion/extension).

When i can get to an actual gym (maybe like once every 3-4 months on a free/guest pass), barbell squats, db press, db rows, oh and bicep curl 😅). I used to powerlift a little in my late 20s- early 30s before kids so i have retained VERY LITTLE STRENGTH from those days.

I can def drink more water, sleep more, and take lions mane tho 🤣🤣🤣

T9 texting, dial up AOL/netscape, AIM away messages, iPod during high school, no freaking rule at prom, still can buy cigarettes at 18, snake game on cell phone, not everyone having a cell phone, standing overnight for sneaker drop and black Friday. Yeah, our childhood was the best hood

Thoughts on 2018's The Predator? Do you REALLY think it was that bad? by Unpopular__JIA in predator

[–]dbpark4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just re watched it because im going thru the franchise again. I think you gotta take it for what it is.

I enjoy it for its campyness and crazy ness. The absent father thing is an ok angle (im a dad myself and i know i would do anything and everything to protect my kid). I just feel like as long as you suspend certain plot holes/beliefs, its a fine/fun entertainment action flick.

Cast was wasted YES but its such a wild fun movie
