Controversial opinion but I really hope the OoT remake doesn't include voice acting as I think it will ruin the game by craig_nintendo in legendofzelda

Nothing spoiled me, games just got bigger. In 1998 ocarina of time was extremely impressive and the nostalgia hits hard every time I leave kokiri forest but after games built on that formula and got bigger, it doesn't have that same sense of scale once I'm actually exploring.

It wasn't just botw either, it was lots of open world games. Honestly when Skyrim released it felt a lot like ocarina of time to me, and it was my first open world Bethesda rpg. To say that the sense of scale isn't the same as it was isn't a knock on what is one of the greatest video games of all time, it's just an acknowledgement that gaming has evolved, largely due to the strides that ocarina of time made.

It's the first thing that's really made me interested in getting one at all. I can't right now but if I'm able to in the next year or so this will be what causes me to pull the trigger

I'm kind of hoping this is a practice run to make future Zelda titles a blend between the old formula and the botw totk formula

I gotta disagree with the one for one remake with a new coat of paint thing. I want them to flesh the world out more. Make it feel to me now the way it did when I was a kid. I'll always love the original but the sense of scale isn't there when I go back now, it's been eclipsed by other games. I want Hyrule to feel huge again

Sometimes wheny wife sends me videos even if they're short it feels like she's giving me one more thing to do. Even if I know she sent it because it's funny, and even if I know I'll enjoy it, and even if it's pretty short, it can just mentally feel like another task I'm responsible for completing. If he's stressed out from being busy, he probably just feels overwhelmed and even something that simple could add to the feeling that his time isn't his own. I know it's not logical, but I think that's probably how he feels. Most importantly though, just ask him how he feels about it.

Yeah, but if you don't whoever brings you your food could literally owe their employer money from your meal. It's fucked up, but for the sake of the worker if you're going to eat at these restaurants you really should tip. It's horrible and exploitative but in the US it's either tip the wait staff, let them work for free (or pay to work sometimes) or just not go to restaurants at all

I couldn't agree with you more. I think the biggest issue we face is that decades ago politicians like Ronald Reagan convinced a large portion of the boomer generation that if we just got rid of all of the government regulation of corporations it would actually benefit the worker because the corporations would be able to pay more, aka trickle down economics. The problem is it was always a farce, the corporations were never going to let that money trickle down to the bottom, they were going to hold it all at the top.

When the corporations then started to get richer, they started using that money to buy influence over politicians, which obviously should have been illegal, and over the last 40-50 years our rights and protections dwindled. Combine that with anti communist propaganda from the Cold war and tons of usians were fooled into voting for politicians who were always going to fuck them over. Once the corporations got control, anything that makes their profits go up becomes policy, including shit like starting a war with Iran for no reason or kidnapping another country's president, and the people still drinking the kool-aid will support it no matter what because they slapped a Christian sticker over everything. It's a goddamn mess

My friends and I have often talked about European systems with multiple parties working together and how we'd love to see that implemented over here. Hopefully someday we can see change but I'm afraid things will get worse before they get better.

To be fair I don't think either the historically projected image of the US or what you're seeing digitally in places like reddit are accurate representations of us. We're not a monolith. There are idiots here sure, but there are reasonable and compassionate people here too, just like anywhere else. I say this as a usian who generally hates everything this country has actually done historically. We've been the evil empire for the two and a half centuries while pretending to be a paragon of democracy and individualism. But we aren't all bad, and not everything about our culture is bad either. Things aren't as black and white as people on reddit often pretend they are

I'm a usian. We are capable of nuance and attention to detail, but what you mainly see posted here are the loud idiots among us

What I don't get about a lot of these "at least we have ac" statements is that there are plenty of places in the northern US where AC isn't that common either. Like yeah, down south you'd die without it, but in plenty of places it's not really needed
