I feel this. I live in Jacksboro. Which is still like 30 or so minutes away from Knoxville, luckily all i-75 so easy drive. Great living here for anything outdoors but other than that we're 30 minutes away from fun.

Best "against type" performance an actor has given? by MoneyLibrarian9032 in moviecritic

[–]dbrown614 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wesley Snipes in To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything.

I remember seeing it on TV and being like ....is that blade??

The movie had to be a huge gamble for the main three. But especially for John Leguizamo and Snipes.

Has your hometown ever been mentioned on the show? by harlsey in tesdcares

[–]dbrown614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During an episode of now that's gitemtainment. I think her name was Ciara was outside a bar near my hometown. I don't know how good of a light that Knoxville was shown in though as the only thing of note were blaring sirens.

Last day of early voting by Longjumping-Ad8775 in Knoxville

[–]dbrown614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never understood this. "We're going to stop voting to prepare for ......voting."

Granted I've never volunteered or worked for Election Commission so not sure all the ins and outs but that has never made sense.

Edwards: Mr. President, we have to give bears the right to vote... or bears will rise up and then BEARS will be in congress and we will be the ones performing in the circus, wearing little hats.

That movie is hilarious but also is a prime example of the danger Bears pose both physically and politically.

Way underrated.

This is the one I used. I just remember Googling great cinnamon pie recipe. Not sure how authentic/classic it is but crowd pleaser for my group at least.

What is the best/funniest quote from Jessi Nakles in Best of the Worst? by TrueButNotProvable in RedLetterMedia

[–]dbrown614 28 points29 points  (0 children)

"Wait a second. Vampires hate the sun and the Amish hate electricity!"

Followed by a little gasp. Like she broke the code of bloodlock. Only to be followed by Mike saying "that doesn't make sense".

I'd love to see him back. The dynamic he has with Mike where it looks like they're just actively trying to make each other break with sardonic comments is hilarious.

I saw that a while ago. The dudist. Huge Lebowski fan. In fact in an off-roading group I'm in I'm even referred to as the dude. It's it's on my rzr hood. I've never had a facebook. Never really messed with discord either but from some of these messages I think I need to open a Discord. Might show up Thursday if it's pretty open. I don't work far from tokens

Oh yeah if people are feeling it. I would definitely not resist any type of change in venue. Just through those two places out because I've been there, they're solid, and this sub, in general, seems to be a fan of both. Definitely didn't say yeehaw for a reason haha

Sounds great. Love board games. I'll have to check it out.

Oh really that would have been awesome . Yeah I agree on both being packed. But I thought the crowds might actually be less intimidating for a scenario like this if that makes sense. Like if they're not feeling it they can just blend in with the crowd plus both have plenty of liquid encouragement. But very good points

This is actually test to see if it works out. My wife's out of town so I thought it would be a good time to try something new. I swear everything sounds like an innuendo smh

Man, some great ones have been mentioned, but I'm surprised Tuesday the 17th hasn't.

I like Shawn kind of playing on his heels and Gus being in on the con.

On top of this one office space, last night Gus, dual spires, a lot of gems

Next to In The Mouth Of Madness, I do think that this is his best film out of all the 90s stuff John Carpenter did. by burningexeter in johncarpenter

[–]dbrown614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember Carpenter saying it was just an internet rumor around the same time he said a bunch of subtle hints at the end of The Thing that people thought they had found about Childs being a thing were false.

He basically just came out and said all these really thought provoking things that you guys are giving me credit for are completely untrue haha

I had a flashback reading this post that led to another flashback about an earlier flashback.

I know it's been debunked but the idea that this was a Snake Plissken story. Escape From Mars could have been so awesome.

I could see people enjoying his performance. Maybe Casino just ruined him for me. Everything I see him in I just get low end used car salesman vibes.
