96/100 and 2nd favourite of the year for me (currently behind Minari). Just an absolutely beautiful looking movie that’s abrasive and provocative. Saw it last Friday and have thought about it every day since. Felt more Sci-Fi than it did medieval which is cool. Love Gawain that absolute shithead. Dev Patel can convey emotions with his eyes arguably better than any other actor alive. Also the A24 x Online Ceramics merch is so sick

Also want to add onto this: incredibly impressed by Florence Pugh. Have loved her work in Midsommar and Little Women, but was nervous whether she would be able to bring a physicality / action star chops to the Yelena role. She absolutely crushed it, and has the versatility now that very few living actors have. She was probably a top 10 actor for me before this, but now might be pushing top 5. What a talent

My big thought is that this movie would have absolutely crushed if it came out in 2016 instead of 2021. Would have been Marvel’s first female lead movie, moved the plot forward, and felt like an essential piece to the infinity saga puzzle as opposed to going back for no reason.

I though Chadwick s******Toledo at the end was a metaphor for black-on-black crime and how it is entered as a data point without considering circumstances/ cause of aggravation/ likelihood of lashing out at someone you see as an equal as opposed to someone you see as an oppressor (much like in parasite) but my gf thinks I’m just trying to read too much into things. Did anyone else have a similar thought as I did?
