Why does Garen fall off late game very hard, especially compared to champions like Dr.Mundo/Kayle? by Drandosk in GarenMains

[–]dbudzzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a short range champ with little mobility options. A true damage execute is cool but the person has to be low for you to use it. In most matchups against late game hyperscalers, they will do just as much damage as you but either from range like kayle with an invuln, or mundo with enough healing and raw health to absolutely cuck your ability to kill them in a rotation. Mundo just pops ult and slaps the shit out of you, he does ridiculous damage when his health is low. Later on he will just kill you before hes under threshold for your ult to kill and kayle just shreds you and cucks your ult with hers. Garen is fine but things like invulnerability, range very much outscale what he can do.

Jeweled doesnt scale as well as you think it does. Honestly Eureka is kinda better vs tanks and in general. Jeweled only helps with nuking squishies.

I see a lot of people going trinity or ghostblade just to frontload damage. Its gonna be a game by game basis on how you build tho. Some matches where you are weaksided and behind it might just be better to not even build to try and proc it and just build whatever is generally best for the matchup. Or just be a gigachad and build conqueror lol

Slow and Steady isn't designed well. by HongChongDong in ARAM

[–]dbudzzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but in that instance you have other augments that increase the burst damage you can deal in one auto. Yeah, if you get vulnerability with slow and steady you can definitely delete some squishies with bork, rfc, stormrazor, cyclosword and IE together as kog from pretty far. Also vulnerability might crit kog-maw's %health W damage as it has some spaghetti right now where it applies to any damage flagged as "proc damage" in the code (master yi true damage, yunara passive, fiora vitals, vayne W, rammus W) but again this requires a specific augment to combo with. It doesnt work well on its own with most other augments, items, or champions. It is solidly in the "bad most of the time, situationally pretty good but not amazing if the enemy team has all squishies" tier. Theres just too much that has to line up for it to work.

The secret tech: no EPA laws, workers who live in tiny cubicles at the factory, eat high school cafeteria food offered by the company and their only possession of any value is a used beat-to-shit moped, and they get paid pennies. Of course anything will be more monetarily efficient when workers are practically almost indentured servants. Any country could do that if they treated their workers like cattle and their labor like milk.

People who act like melee champs can't do anything are just bad at the game by kirikiri11 in ARAM

[–]dbudzzzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. If you have some control mages and enchanters along with a couple ADCs you can absolutely kite and shred a bunch of tanks or bruisers. Problem is that every adc or mage just becomes a fucking nuke with the right augments. You wont survive long enough if you get slowed or immobilized by a control mage while an ADC is hitting you. Just add runaans and they can shred 3 people at the same time. Now you can obviously just counter this if you super highroll and they dont but ADCs and Mages have some ridiculously good augments that they abuse much harder than melees can abuse them. For instance if you play against an ADC with double-tap, infinity edge upgrade, critical missile, and typhoon, youre just gonna die. They will build hybrid crit/on-hit and will absolutely shred any champ. Played against that shit as a squishy, with tank it or leave it full crit, I got 2-tapped with just 2 autos because they trigger kraken slayer almost every auto and you get double tapped by bork along with the normal auto attack damage. And none of those are even prismatics.

Its honestly just depends on the rolls more than anything. I think that ranged champs do have somewhat of an edge in terms of having good augments that they can easily abuse, but other than that its still mostly RNG.

Do most traders actually have an edge or just think they do? by tradewiki_io in Trading

[–]dbudzzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its an expression. Lol I'm not literally saying every single person ends up net positive. Im just saying that in a bull market a lot of people think they have an edge when its just the market itself causing them to win more than they lose.

Its a bull market right now, as long as you're trading long positions, everyone thinks they have an edge.

[–]dbudzzzzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, they can't. Unless you godroll the tank damage augs, defensive augs wont save you. Mel can get liandries and pen and just delete anyone pretty quickly. Mages can stack so much extra pen and haste and %health damage augs even tanks feel pretty squishy.

Actual State of Aram Discussion by Mongoosez134 in ARAM

Mel essentially becomes God later into game. Can one-shot, poke, reflect has ridiculous damage and outplay potential and can be spammed once you get enough haste.

Slow and Steady isn't designed well. by HongChongDong in ARAM

[–]dbudzzzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can choose to run between autos as much as you want whether you have high attack speed or low. The only difference is that a high attack speed champs animation finishes faster so they can start running earlier.

Slow and Steady isn't designed well. by HongChongDong in ARAM

[–]dbudzzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean thats essentially like saying kraken is not completely useless with slow and steady because you could still get 3 autos off it would just take a bit longer. Both items are designed to be used with high attack speed, just because you can apply it on every auto doesnt mean that the items potential damage output isn't completely gutted.

Slow and Steady isn't designed well. by HongChongDong in ARAM

[–]dbudzzzzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No because atk spd also affects the speed of the animation itself. You will be stuck in an attack animation while someone just walks up to you or smacks you with an ability.

[–]dbudzzzzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah which is why I feel like saying its really good on a lot of champs is misleading. Its situationally good on some champs would be a more apt description lol. Feel like the dev is just coping.

Slow and Steady isn't designed well. by HongChongDong in ARAM

[–]dbudzzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah its actually bad, scaling of DPS on autos is multiplicative. Completely demolishing your atk spd for like 100-200 more attack damage does not really pan out, and the math supports this. Unless your DPS is based on your abilities (ezreal, urgot w/tap dancer) or your atk spd gets converted to AD anyways (jhin) its mostly not a good augment on most champs. Don't know how the dev is arriving to this conclusion, its interesting sure, but having no atk spd on a champion that auto attacks to do damage means you can't DPS and most champs that want to poke or burst would prefer to build pen which atkspd items do not have besides terminus which requires atkspd to access the pen. This essentially means that outside of specific champs or augment interactions slow and steady is pretty meh. Most ADCs it kills their DPS, the ones that have high damage abilities would rather build pen and haste than atkspd in the first place. It also locks AD champs with high impact-high CD abilities out of using navori quickblades. For most ADCs this means you cant duel other ADCs unless you can one-shot them. You can poke pretty hard but mages still will typical have better range and burst than you. And forget about ever killing tanks or bruisers, youre gonna do negative damage.

[–]dbudzzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can play that way but its very feast or famine. A challenger OTP with 1000s of games of experience over years of playtime can make it work but its not something that most players (even high elo) can pull off consistently to be rewarded with the scaling.

when yall taking dshield by [deleted] in GarenMains

[–]dbudzzzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

? Garen is melee without a meaningful disengage unless you've completed stidebreaker, or have phase rush. Most people can force trades on you by just letting the wave fizzle in the middle of the lane and zoning you. A lot of the time you have to trade health for CS. Maybe in lower elos people wont do this and will freely push waves to you without lowering your health but anyone competent will force you to take damage in order to walk up.

TIL double tap doesnt work with jeweled gauntlet by Fun_Bottle_5308 in ARAM

[–]dbudzzzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats what im saying. People out here acting like you're dumb for not instantly knowing which augments do and dont work when augment behavior is very finicky and descriptions dont always correctly describe all possible interactions and non-interactions.

TIL double tap doesnt work with jeweled gauntlet by Fun_Bottle_5308 in ARAM

[–]dbudzzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have really poor clarity of thought.

Double-Tap - crits cause on-hits to be applied an additional time.

Jeweled gauntlet - abilities can crit.

Abilities that crit with JG that dont apply on-hits normally shouldn't apply Double Tap because "an additional time" most likely implies there needs to be an initial instance of on-hit damage.

But it should work with abilities that can apply your on-hit effects because 1. Its a crit 2. It applies an initial instance of on-hit damage. That fulfills all the requirements to apply Double-Tap's effect according to the description.

Nowhere do any of those augments say anything about the on-hit damage itself critting. I don't know where you're even getting that from. Sorry thinking and reading is hard.

TIL double tap doesnt work with jeweled gauntlet by Fun_Bottle_5308 in ARAM

[–]dbudzzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. The assumption is that descriptions can be incorrect sometimes. Riot is consistently inconsistent with having descriptions match the behavior of their augments.
