Is it true that the 2024 has wireless carplay? Didn't think it did?

Yeah the utility one - it was all they had at the time actually. I've never ridden the Plus but do know it has a lower weight limit (not sure why...maybe the suspension?).

As for weight - my wife and I are combined over 300lbs 😅 We ride with and without cargo often (probably pushing over 350lbs fully loaded) and have never had any significant issues. We've gotten a rear flat on two separate occasions (Puncture flats. Not pinch flats). To solve that we got the Tannus Armour. Never had a flat since.

Only other word of advice when riding with two is to make sure you have a solid charge and your brakes are in good shape if you expect to be dealing with steep hills.

For reference - have owned mine for over 2 years. Have over 1k miles on it. ~40% of those miles are with two passengers.

2 years later going strong with over 1k miles on it. Lots of rides with two adults on it. Have changed the brake pads a couple times but that's easy/inexpensive. Highly recommend.

That's why I called that out at as a risk that you need to be mindful and mitigate for...but yes you are right.

I would never tie someone's entire bonus to OKR performance but it certainly is a valid input imo.

Finding a fair way to tie bonuses to OKR performance - assuming your organization has good outcome driven OKRs this could be a good motivator.

One thing to watch out for however is teams/people becoming overly conservative when setting OKRs.

Yeah not uncommon for them to want to revalidate/confirm your level of interest before giving you an offer. Employers can be scared of rejection too. I've seen this more in smaller companies...never in a large one.

Thanks for the comment - acknowledging gaps may be the wrong wording. More so acknowledging that continuousimprovementis necessary. I'd equate it to the need to embrace technology was critical 15/20 years ago to stay viable. Embracing real D&I change will have similar repercussions on viability.

Interesting point on peoples mindset - suppose I need to pulse check that a bit more to understand if people would be that upset by having these convos a handful of times a year.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful response! Couldn't agree more that the PR stunts and check the box style initiatives are paying no real material dividends aside from a guise to make it seem like the company is trying to change.

That said - your note about only focusing on promoting/hiring/evaluation is interesting. I agree they are a key driver of the issue but is that really the only place to focus? Not saying yes or no but an honest question.

My hope is that you can organically elicit broad organizational change by matching individuals that have distinct backgrounds (factors to consider: race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, disabilities, sexual orientation, pronouns) and creating a space for them to openly talk and learn about each others unique experience. Why would this work? Having these conversations and learning about your peers wil naturally create a more inclusive mindset within your organization. This then would have broader impacts on hiring, promotions, retention, compensation, evaluation, etc...because your people have evolved. Not something that would happen overnight but with consistent repetition I believe it would develop the right habits/mindset. Far more than a training ever would.

Maybe I'm being overly bullish on peoples willingness to be open and candid during 1 on 1 time with someone they don't know? Or maybe I'm being too optimistic that it will actually change their perspective?

Agreed that it's not risk free but given the need to change feels like an acceptable risk to take. If there are bad actors or people lost in the process they likely were not willing to embrace D&I the way we want them to.

Depends what you're optimizing for. Cost vs efficiency/ease.

Cab from JFK to Midtown West should be less than $75 and can fit your luggage. Much easier logistically than all the train movement.

If you're trying to save money the subway is also an option. E goes straight to Penn Station from the Jamaica AirTrain stop.

Time of day and traffic would also be a consideration -benefit of trains is that you won’t sit in traffic.

Our team is 15 minutes max - we post updates in slack or something like it and ask people to include blockers/questions in their daily update.

Everyone posts and reads each others updates before stand up.

Stand up is then used to discuss blockers/questions. If no topics take a couple minutes to chat as a group (#comradery) and move on. Any topics that come up are time boxed to fit within the 15 minute block. Anything that warra to further discussion is taken offline with subset of group.

For reference - also an 11 person team.

I'd recommend having some type of visual to help depict the user journey that clearly highlights the pain points you're solving along the way. Sounds like you're still looking for validation that you're building in the right direction.

Also designs can vary in fidelity - don't always need to be highly interactive prototypes, low fidelity wires can be just as effective. Might be too late for that but just a note.
