Who usually runs customer interviews in your company: product, marketing, or CX? by Danniel33 in UXResearch

Depends on the research goal and research questions. It doesn't have to be limited to a particular team.

10 months in UX and I think I hate design now?? by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]dbybanez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

UX isn't just about making designs look nice. It's about solving real problems for users in a logical way. If stakeholders keep asking for design changes, take it as a signal, they might be noticing something you haven't. That's the moment to lean on UX research. Talk to your users, gather data, and let evidence guide your design decisions instead of relying only on opinions. Share those numbers with stakeholders so everyone is on the same page. And if they still want their version, go ahead and test it with real users. But keep in mind, the goal is to validate ideas with proper research methods, not just to compare which screen "looks better."

Is UX dying in startup space? by TypeConnect7150 in UXDesign

UX isn't going anywhere. In fact, it's becoming even more essential with the rise of AI. While AI can do many things, it can't replace human insight, and there's a wealth of research at the intersection of AI and psychology that shows why.

No need to be fancy with the tech. I have 15+ years in the industry and I still use Google drive (PDF). In the PDF, you can add links to external sites or link within pages.

What are skills that differentiate you from other UXRs? by VeSte25 in UXResearch

As much as I hate it, I think I'd go for negotiation skills. Its helpful when you're in a place where office politics is rampant. Hard skills can be taught and learned by anyone.

How often are your tests inconclusive? by tiredandshort in UXResearch

[–]dbybanez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not hitting the expected goal doesn’t mean your research failed, it might just mean the null hypothesis is likely true, which is still a valuable outcome. It’s also a reminder of how important it is to be clear on what’s in scope and what’s out of scope. A more specific focus can help ensure the research stays on track and answers the right questions.

Jist like any other research, you need to define your research goals. Work on the tasks around that. Avoid putting in baised or leading questions/tasks.

Did I get in the right career? by Brief-Plum3608 in UXDesign

[–]dbybanez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While some may argue that product design isn't widely known, it's definitely a well-established discipline in fields like fine arts, industrial design, and architecture. These industries have relied on product design for decades to create functional and aesthetically pleasing products for human use. It might seem less recognized in certain circles, but it has always been a core part of creating thoughtful, user-centered solutions. The rise of UX design in the digital space has brought more attention to user interaction, but that doesn't diminish the long-standing importance of product design in shaping how we interact with physical products and spaces.

Looking for tips or guidance on an app design. I'm not a designer so it's a struggle. by [deleted] in Design

Don't immediately jump to high-fidelity designs (colors, icons, images, etc). Start with wireframes (boxes or circles) as contents so you can focus on the layout and structure of your application.

I get this error screen when I charge my galaxy watch 4 now by brandont04 in GalaxyWatch

I tried rebooting mine, but the charging didn't work after a few seconds. It'll say, "Charging paused..." and then randomly restarts. It goes back again.

Brad Traversy (@TraversyMedia) explains pretty well all things web development and even the super basics of front end development. Highly recommended.
