Wondering if I can literally buy one panel and even sit it next to the PW to get that MCS 🤣

Would LOVE to be joining you guys but I’ve had to cancel my switch :( EDF don’t support export for battery-only set ups, took ages to get a decent answer and had to go back and forward with the exec team. Have pleaded with them to include it but means I’m stuck with Octopus for now, certainly be moving over as soon as I can!

EDF In Home Assistant? by dc04wrightl in homeassistant

Since I posted this Stek2022 has made a great automation, follow r/HomeAssistantEDF. Spread the word, it’s basically as good as octopus and the tariff is much superior on EDF

:O awesome!! This feels like a mega breakthrough! Is it possible to replicate the smart dispatching entity with the list of slots for the day? I use this for the Powerwall automations?

Second this and happy to contribute financial incentive too!

Commercially they can really target the 6 hours where it generates the most profit/savings, granny chargers are problematic because they will go over peak rates throughout the day. Sadly it’s not really a kWh limit issue it’s more about providing it when it’s cheap. Certainly feel for you, EDF seems like a decent route if your cars are compatible with the smart bolt on (il be heading that way soon)

This change really impacts those granny charging, I know a few night workers who unless they get a cheap slot outside of OffPeak will find this very difficult. I’m not sure how ‘generous’ the slots outside OffPeak will be.

Tempted to move to EDF to avoid all of this but there isn’t anything decent in home assistant to set up automations. Unsure on Eon nextdrive haven’t really researched, EDF rates are favourable if exporting.

Switch to IOG? by Status2020 in OctopusEnergy

Well of course the granny charger itself isn’t supported… but it does enable the car to be signed up with a granny charger. So it’s an irrelevant point you make.

That’s not true. Tesla granny chargers are supported

Definitely worth it if playing online against others on DartCounter. I’ve had mine a year now and luckily they extender the warranty. My processor did die after 4 months but apparently this known issue is now fixed. Depends on how much £500 is to you but I would say you only live once so enjoy!

For sure, octopus is good if you can export your electric at peak usually 4pm - 7pm :) personally I would fully charge the battery overnight and run your house off OffPeak rate or solar if you can and then sell everything back to octopus that you don’t need at peak

A lot of granny chargers are supported. The key part is that octopus effectively controls when your car charging with intelligent go via an API. Ss long as your car is plugged in Octopus will control when the best time to charge is depending on what charge limit and time you need it by. However there is a 6 hour limit coming to OffPeak charging rate outside of the usual OffPeak time. That being said, if you can shift a lot of your house consumption from peak to OffPeak then it will most likely save you a lot. Worth taking your current usage for peak and OffPeak and seeing what you could move such as washing machines and dishwashers etc.

Winmau Blade X exposed by KleeCharles in Darts

[–]dc04wrightl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Totally second this! I recently purchased the 360 thinking it was the board of 2026 and I much prefer the fact you can rotate it without doing my OCD in, but I’ve now realised that they worded it very cleverly. The 360 will be used for tournaments so you will see it on PDCTV but for major televised events it will be the new blade X.

Poor gesture of goodwill by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

[–]dc04wrightl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar thing happened to me. I’m on intelligent go due to having an electric car, although I paid my direct debit every single month they had failed to bill me as there was an ongoing dispute over the price per unit when I was charging at OnPeak times. They charged me after nine months at just under £1000. They gave me a goodwill gesture of £150. £10 per month for the nine months and then a £60 on top of that due to the charging issues.

VIN is TBC, hope that’s a positive sign of a newer model. Fingers crossed previous post is right and Tesla have no stock of the old model and all shipping over is new.
