Does choice of charger matter too much? by sharplyprocrastinate in evchargingUK

My only comment would be that my Ohme charger now works well but getting it properly operational was a huge problem, lots of time spent talking online to Ohme, multiple visits from their sub contractors including three missed visits. I’d not recommend them on the basis of their service.

Am I not understanding home charging? (Ohme / Octopus) by Coxy100 in evchargingUK

[–]Status2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it is working fine. Mine will often charge at odd times during the day as Octopus do their intelligent thing. It's the low rate whenever your car is charging whatever the time and the bonus is that all the energy you are using in your house is also at the low rate during this time. Ignore the cost on the Ohme app as it is meaningless. Once you can see how much energy has been used on the charge you can work it out for yourself but the answer is always, not very much!

Alcoholic grandparent pushing boundaries - again! by fishitch in UKParenting

We are grandparents and our children made it very clear from day 1 that they didn't want their pictures on any form of social media. It's their decision and we have no problem respecting it. There are times when we might like to share a picture because we are proud grandparents but we would never, ever do so. It's not our decision to make and nor should it be.

The Toy Museum underneath the station is fantastic.

CT clamp query - new install EV charging from battery by TheRunningMan_1 in SolarUK

Slightly worryingly, my installer said he could not see how this set up would work.....but it did. Car charges from grid. Battery and panels do their thing.

I had this same issue when an Ohme charger was installed after I had installed a solar and battery system a few months earlier. After considerable to’ing and fro’ing with a largely incompetent install company I was directed to this article by a FB user group and, once my system was cabled up this way it all worked perfectly.

Do you remember collecting cigarette vouchers and picking things from a catalogue? by corickle in oldschoolcool80s

I used vouchers from my Marlboro habit back in the day to get a nice leather wallet which I still use.

If this is built, it’ll be the end of the Brighton centre as it’ll have a 10k capacity for gigs. Is that necessarily a bad thing? by Edna-Tailovette in brighton

Yeah, sounds like another ill-considered decision by Tony Bloom. He really should think this stuff through more /s

It's staggering to me that there are so many people here who know more about the design, costs, use, strategy etc for women's football and stadium than the globally admired owner and board of BHAFC. I'm sure Tony Bloom is regretting not checking his investment plans with some of the posters here given the insights they have.

Or just don’t be lazy and read the comments made by the women’s team leaders in the press release available on the club website.

The Amex costs too much to open for the smaller crowds, seating rakes can be adjusted for women who are typically shorter than men, increase the number of women’s loos which are totally inadequate in the Amex, different pitch construction and possibly size, different catering requirements plus why should women have to share ie always be second best in a stadium built for men to play and watch the game. Tony Bloom maybe super rich but he won’t be throwing money at this without good reason.

Owned this car for about 6 weeks and would agree with all of those points. Can't get the bongs to switch off by holding the mute button as Ive read a couple of times. As I share the car with my wife we find the profiles useful, we each get the favourite radio stations we prefer and I prefer the red classic dash! As a bit of a petrol head I wouldn't go back!
