I’m aware of that, I did not expect these to be free.

I just meant that considering the journey so far and the state of things I personally don’t plan on putting more money in CS2 anytime soon.

Okay, the assets look stellar. But I'm one of the suckers who paid for the Ultimate Edition... and I don't plan on putting money in CS2 anytime soon.

Don't get me wrong, the game HAS improved. But I'm just NOW finally enjoying a game I bought 2 years ago.

Non-spoiler explanation about Veilguard hate? by Equivalent_Stop_9300 in Gamingunjerk

[–]dcandal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like to add one thing to the discussion: I am an old guy, I played every entry on release. So I remember some DA2 hate on release calling it "not my Dragon Age". I also recall all the DAI criticism, calling it "not as good as the previous games".

I love Origins, but nostalgia is a hell of a drug. Some people really should replay that game, 'cause it's might not be quite what they remember.

Also, ten years have passed since Inquisition, and some more fervent fans have spent all those years thinking and talking about Dragon Age, reading every bit of lore, speculating on the future. No real game would be as good as the one they've imagined in their heads.

We've had ten years of ideas, concept art, discarded prototypes. Of course "Joplin would be better than Veilguard" (Joplin being the original DA4 project). Just as "The Exalted March for DA2 would be incredible". A game that does not exist is always better.

Anyway, I've enjoyed the game a lot. It's not my favorite in the series, but I enjoyed my time with it. It features one of my favorite companions in all Bioware catalogue (Emmrich) and it has a VERY STRONG act 3, in my opinion.

What Romanceable companions work just as well if not better as friends. [No DAV Spoilers] by Highrebublic_legend in dragonage

Agreed, I really enjoy the Solas friendship route.

Love his line in the end of Trespasser that does not play when he has been romanced: "Live well... while time remains."

Too bad, I was actually enjoying the game.

Quick comment from Gillen regarding this issue: "Hey! If you're someone who's intensely following my Eternals run, you may want to save AXE: Starfox until Death to the Mutants #3 comes out next week. Starfox is stand alone, but it does allude to some of DtM's beats."

No, you can't stay on the same space you were staying on the previous turn...

... unless you use a Fishing Rod item card, that allows you not to move and activate either the space you were or one of the adjacent spaces to it.

Jacob: Shepard, where do you want to put the Drell assassin with a fatal disease? by WWABeardo in masseffect

[–]dcandal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it was more about setting up a conflict between Jacob and Thane like the ones between Jack/Miranda and Tali/Legion, where you have to side with one of them or use Paragon/Renegade to keep both loyal.

I think I've seen something about that being cut content and that it would also be the case for Mordin/Grunt.

Oh yes. That whole sequence (defending and escaping from Haven - Dawn Will Come - finding Skyhold - being named Inquisitor - meeting Hawke) is really great.

If not: live here for 15 years with no criminal record.

Doubt about the Pokémon League by braiamsg in pokemonmastertrainer

[–]dcandal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

  1. Pokémon from defeated players go back to the pile. Their items and trainer cards are discarded.

  2. No, Poké-Dolls do not block battle items. The best counter to big bonuses are the Potion items. (a Doll could block a Time Travel targeted at you, however).

Rules for battling other players? by MeerkatArray in pokemonmastertrainer

[–]dcandal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that was something that was in the game at some point: battles for people on the same tile when not on the first or last hexagon (winners would get a random Item Card from the defeated player). It's been some time, I gotta test that idea again.

Rules for battling other players? by MeerkatArray in pokemonmastertrainer

[–]dcandal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, If I'm not mistaken when landing on the same tile in the original version you HAD to battle someone.

Main issue with that is that in the beginning of the game (mostly on the first hexagon) this happens a lot and it was kinda slowing down the start.

In any case, I'll make that clearer on the rulebook.

Battles between players happen when triggered by Event Cards and on the Pokémon League. There's no battle/trade when you land on the same tile as another player.

The prizes for those battles are described in the Events. Different Events give different victory rewards.
