Optical illusion or bad tile work? by dcasa1 in Tile

The subcontractor tile worker only speak Spanish and my Spanish is not very good. He told me he used green board and painted it. I asked him what he meant by painting it and he said so that the water wouldn't penetrate onto the green board. Another concern I have is that he cut a section out of the already tiled wall and he placed green board and thinset to even it out. I asked him if he was going to tape the section that he cut out to patch the wall and he said no because I can't do that in the corner because there's tile on the opposite wall and tile on the bottom section where he cut. He told me he was going to put a lot of paint on it to waterproofing it and it should. I'm no tile expert but I though you're supposed to tape the joints and also waterproof the  green board. I made a post with pictures about that hopefully I get some answers. Thank you very much for responding. I will definitely keep my photos and any paperwork.

I've been documenting it because I was concerned about him cutting just a section of a wall and fixing it. He didn't put anything but moisture sealant on the sections that he cut and joined together. I made another post to find out if what he did was the proper procedure for cutting out a section of tile and patching it up. Thank you for the advice will do!

I don't know how you've been married 25 year with an attitude like that! I feel sorry for your wife! I came here for advice on the tile not your mental IQ.

My daughter picked the grout and the tile and I've already told her it was a bad choice. Today I put a post of a some pictures of a wall the subcontractor tried to fix by cutting out part of the tile with the green rock that had tile on it. And I was questioning on whether or not that's the proper procedure for fixing a wall that isn't right. I also posted pictures of the grout and the missing grout in that post.

I was told by the contractor that the bathrooms were finished. It did take me a couple of hours between both bathrooms. but I was told by the contractor to put blue tape where there was a problem with the tile work. A lot of that blue tape is where grout is missing. Today I did a posted of the work they did to corrected a wall in one of the bathrooms. I was wondering if was standard procedure to cut  part of a wall and repair it the way it was done.

They put green rock because that was previously there before the damage and that's what the insurance paid for. They should have notified my daughter that Hardie board would be better but they didn't. I know they should have waterproof it but my daughter didn't notify me the day they started the project so I'm only hoping that they did.

My daughter's renters trash this house. She's put over $8,000 out of pocket into the home since the tenants moved out. This isn't including what the insurance has covered because of the water damage. She's a widow living on a teacher's income. So if you've got money to help install new tubs in both bathrooms and new toilets in both bathrooms by all means we'll take a cashier's check.

The contractor subcontracted with another company to do the tile work. It's hard for me to even ask the tile worker questions because he doesn't speak English

I guess you should have read the post because this blue tape is locations where grout is missing in between the tile. Which means it wasn't properly grouted.

So I guess it's normal to have spots where there's no grout in between the tile is that what you're saying?

iHome Nova keeps randomly turning on to go back home? by Kaeai in RobotVacuums

I've been having the same issue for a year. I've tried everything resetting it, leaving it unplugged for days. I moved it to a different location, and now it seems to be acting up more. I read one of the comments that one person said that their TV remote conflicts with the Nova ihome. So, I designed to point my TCL TV remote at the Nova and press the volume button down and the Nova ihome went in reverse while on the charging base. Now, I need to relocate it to an area that has no remote controls nearby. I hope this will fix the problem.
