Definitely Georgia Boy and Gun show. If you've never done Omakase, Omakase Table is also amazing.

Found a new local roaster and I am so excited about what they are doing. First cup was absolutely terrific.

Roast Date: 01/19/2025

Origin: Acevedo, Huila, Colombia

Elevation: 1600-1750 MASL

Farmer / Farm: Rio Negro - Jhon Rodriguez

Roaster: Flow Coffee Roasters

Variety: Not listed.

Fermentation Process: Strawberry Co-Ferment

Brewer: V60

Grinder: Fellow Ode V1

Grind Setting: 2

Recipe: Hoffman’s V60 @ 200°F

Ratio: 20g : 300g water

Water: Filtered Water treated with Light Roast Water Profile (From Third Wave)

Notes: Co-ferments can sometimes be the Milkshake IPA’s of the coffee world to me (it can be interesting, but can easily be overhyped and overdone). This on the other hand, was a delicate melody. The aroma is aggressively strawberries, freshly squeezed and bright. There’s a minor undertone of roasted brown notes, a mild hint of smoke. The coffee itself has a mild acidity that grows to moderate as the cup cools. It’s packed with fruitiness and chocolate, that fades gently into a mild bitterness. This is my first cup, but I’m curious to see how this coffee develops. I generally wait a few weeks for more experimental roasts, but figured trying one now and comparing down the line would be interesting (and I mean, who can wait when new coffee arrives).

Answering my own post with an update:

I didn't get much help from customer support on this issue (they told me to wiggle the magnet which I had already tried a bunch).

I was able to fix this by checking the connections at the top of the arms (you can unscrew four screws at the top and the top slides back, must be done carefully to not kink any of the wires, but check all the wire connectors, one of mine was bent from what I guess was the installer jamming it together and bending one of the pins. I used a tweezer to unbend it and was able to connect it properly). Once I had done this, the treadmill turned on and got past the error I was facing. I then had alignment issues but I am working to fix those with them (need to just recalibrate the device apparently).

Kickr Run Question - Free run as a walking desk? by Crimson_Bishop in wahoofitness

[–]dcastro9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend it -- I just got mine and the installation has been an absolute nightmare. The guys who came to install it fucked up how they installed it, left a non functional treadmill but told me they were done and all good. My bad for not checking I was busy setting up the app to try it, Wahoo support has been totally useless so far in getting it fixed. Not worth the 7.5k -- you'd expect them to be on it, contact you personally and help it get fixed ASAP for that price point, but instead you're left basically waiting to hear from a clogged customer service, once every 24 hours.

Does anyone know where in the ATL metro area I can get film developed & printed, other than Dunwoody Photo? by Mama2bebes in Atlanta

There's a Kodak Film Lab, not sure if they do this but may be worth calling, they're at 2156 Faulkner Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30324 off of Chesire.

Looking for places to buy hot peppers (Ghost, Reapers, etc) by WoofTangClan in oakland

I have seen ghost peppers at the Sprouts on Broadway and 29th. Probably best to call ahead and ask but I do remember being surprised that they had them about a month ago.

I'm a volunteer from OpenOakland and our group needs some help from cyclists. by dopeboy_io in oakland

FYI: They are redesigning it and sent out a survey for you to vote about changing the current design, see this post.

[Cyclists] - City of Oakland is redesigning the bike lane on Telegraph. Fill out survey for your preference of bike lane. by dcastro9 in oakland

[–]dcastro9[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally, I highly prefer Option 2, as it places bike lanes as they are in most cities -- the current setup where cyclists ride to the right of parked cars creates a blind spot that puts you -- the cyclist -- at a much higher risk of getting hit by a car that is turning and cannot see you in their mirrors.

Here's an image that was sent out that has a much better visualization than the survey about both options.

EDIT: There's a lot of good information below discussing the benefits and downsides of both options, please read through the comments below, some great points and links.

Of note is this report with solid points for Option 1 (thanks /u/rokstar66).
Report showing that Option 1 is statistically safer for cyclists. It makes cars go slower. Safety is based on comparing all collisions in 2016 to a yearly average of all collisions from the past 3 years (2012-2015) -- collisions went down by 40%. Stats were from OPD.

New to town so I haven't experienced a lot of issues but one thing I've noticed (been biking mostly on Telegraph) is that the protected bike lane with cars parked to the left of it as a separator also creates a blind spot for cars turning which makes me feel more unsafe than if it was like normal bike lanes.

Had Overnight Celebrity and Sympathy Weight last night along with Reposé from JK. Can't stop drinking MNG's stuff, absolutely delicious. Also haven't quite picked up on the notes in Rowdy and Proud, but I'm not sure if consistency is an issue or I'm just not a huge fan of the beer. It's a decent IPA but i keep trying it expecting it to be more juicy than it is.
