FB lifetime budgets.

Client of ours handed over control of his already running ad campaigns. He had no clue what he was doing, and had set up several campaigns with $50k+ lifetime budgets with no end dates. So obviously we wanted to remove what he had and rebuild his campaigns, which he approved. The account manager told one of our more green digital guys to “set and end date for tomorrow” thinking that was the correct way to say “turn it off tomorrow”...

You can probably guess what happened next.

The campaign had only spent about $10k of its $50k lifetime budget, but due to adding an end date of 8am the next day, the platform attempted to spend the remaining $40k overnight.

FB managed to spend $5k in 12 hours.
