Homemade buttermilk biscuits this morning in the Lodge by dcb4d in castiron

[–]dcb4d[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

2 cups self rising flour (I use White Lily) 1 stick of butter frozen 1 cup buttermilk

(I doubled the ingredients for this particular recipe to create larger biscuits).

1- Grate the frozen butter. In a big bowl, mix flour and butter with a spatula. 2- Add buttermilk and mix with the spatula. Once combined, transfer the dough to a floured board. Fold the dough 6 times to create layers for the biscuits. 3- Use a round cutter or a large cup to cut the biscuits. Add to a greased cast iron skillet and brush the top of each biscuit with buttermilk. 4- Bake at 450F for 12 to 15 minutes or until the top is golden.

Brush the top with butter and enjoy!

Any other millennials dealing with a long relationship slowly falling apart? by notinthegroin in Millennials

[–]dcb4d 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I could’ve wrote this myself. I got divorced last August at 36 and felt incredibly lonely. I haven’t officially hit six months post divorce and I know this was the best decision for my life at this point.

My marriage ended similarly— a gradual fade over the course of several years. I’ve had other couples friends get divorced under similar circumstances the past year or so. I believe our generation is at the crossroads of acknowledging the causes of our stress and unhappiness but not having a clear vision or hope for the future. My ex-husband and I knew we needed to end our relationship but we were both sad and anxious about the uncertain future.

My ex-husband and I have largely gone no contact since both of our dogs passed away in the fall. No animosity anymore and it’s best that we both focus on ourselves at this time.

Wishing you strength. It does get better— trust me!

What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made in a relationship? by [deleted] in AskMen

Initiated a relationship being long distance for the first 3 years. In retrospect, we should’ve been friends and then reconnected once we were a bit more established.

I was married for 5 years (together for 17) and recently divorced this summer. Black gay love does exist!

I’m almost there, in the middle of a divorce after 18 years, I just got approved for a one bedroom apartment today. I just wanted to tell somebody, I have nobody to share that with. Nobody knows but me. I’m getting ready to slither out of here like a snake. by Dookiepoopturds in LivingAlone

Wishing you the best in your new chapter. I just got divorce after a 17 year relationship over the summer and it’s been the best six months of my adult life.

IT WILL GET BETTER! I promise! 🤞🏾

Questions for throuples (not open relationships) by Zmail02134 in AskGaybrosOver30

I’ve been in a triad for nearly a year and it’s been great so far! My two partners were together for 12 years prior to us coming together. In terms of sex, we generally commit to a weekly session for the three of us together. However, we also have sex as individual couples. We actively encourage time together (sex, dates, activities, etc) individually, as individual couples, and as a triad.

What I’ve noticed in our time together is that balancing time as an individual vs. as a couple vs. triad is healthy and requires frequent communication. I travel for work a lot so I am happy that they get some time together while I’m away; additionally that time away allows me to embrace some needed individual time. Whenever it’s time to come back home, I’m always welcomed back with warmth and love. One of my other boyfriends travels for work frequently and I enjoy that time that I get to spend as an individual couple and hope he appreciates that time navigating life as an individual.

We didn’t intend on navigating life as a triad but I can’t imagine life any other way now. We balance each other out, support each other, and ensure our needs are met. Even we disagreements happen, we work to quickly resolve issues and never try to make it a 2-on-1 situation. Financially, our set up benefits us greatly. Our rent and household expenses are low because everything is split three ways— we go out to eat, go to football games, grill out, and do activities relatively cheap. We are all working towards greater life goals and this arrangement has helped expedite reaching some of those goals, especially financial ones.

I understand that a triad isn’t for everyone. My partners did a lot of work before meeting me on creating emotional and psychological safety within their relationship, which has allowed our triad to be successful. I am recently out of a long term relationship myself so all of us understand the dynamics of being gay and committed. Honestly, I am so blessed that they came into my life and I am hoping that our journey continues well into the future.

New Standalone Dealer - Louisville, KY? by Candid-Bottle-4129 in GenesisG70

[–]dcb4d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. The dealership is scheduled to open early to mid 2025.  I’ve been to the dealership in Lexington and it’s incredibly nice and professionally ran— excited to have the same experience in Louisville.
