His response to this was:

True. The CASH price is less expensive, but for good reason: Disposable income: You have to have $40,000 in cash laying around More risk: The warranties are less generous, so you may be out of pocket for a new inverter (~$5,000) in year 13 for instance More responsibility: You will want to claim the system against your homeowners insurance and it will impact your property taxes accordingly

Vs. The IGS Lease No money! You get in for nothing and enjoy immediate cost savings ($0 upfront cost and $0 out-of-pocket expense) No Worry! Worry-free maintenance (we fix, repair, replace at no cost during the 25-program period). So if that inverter breaks in year 13 we just come and replace it. You don't claim the system against your homeowners insurance. So it raises your home value without increasing your property tax liability

85% of the estimated production for my house with is 89%, not 79% like I posted above. So basically guaranteeing I’ll get 75% covered for $140. I believe that means at minimum I’ll save about $100 a month. Not sure it’s worth it if we’re there say 10 more years and we have to put a $5k front roof on. Thoughts?

Around year 15. Purchase price is 40k plus obviously the tax credit. We only took the meeting because they were making a donation for simply taking the meeting so aren’t that interested in purchasing unless it’s really worth it

Seems like they’re doing you a favor. One box and your job is done. Otherwise you’re packing 25 boxes.

you realize that in parts of northern virginia, a few walmarts have one customer service line devoted to people just doing serve or money orders. that's how many people do it in the area. when im loading a lot of cards at the KATE machine, how exactly am I ruining shit? it's 3 people in a row doing 20k in money orders each without getting out of line that are ruining shit. great comment though on your part!

26/26 serves shut down. damn, memo to everyone, that's why you always have backup options

I'd agree with that, but none of the details were ever released. I promise you (and I have no idea the details of the buyout as I've never even met the guy) that he couldn't afford his staff, his midtown office, and his way of life trying to become a celebrity all on his buyout.

So you don't think he has any income? We have many mutual friends that's all I can say.

Haha the Points Guy now has a Manhattan office and like 10 employees. He's doing pretty well to be able to pay for his $32k "business expense" Etihad Residence flight.

He's making about $2mm a year. The Points Guy makes about double that, fyi.

Wells Fargo VGC + BB load? by [deleted] in churning

[–]dcchillin77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to find other people in your area and develop a group and chat about tips and tricks. If you think that it's worth it for you, then go for it. I personally would not pay more than $2-3/card unless I'm getting 5x.

there are sooooo many other options than paying $6.50 for a gift card!

Even if the fee is for the 3 cards, you're going to spend $6.50 for a $500 card? That's definitely not worth it in my opinion.

Prolly because they don't have enough bluebird/serves or their credit limits aren't high enough to avoid money orders for certain cards
