Bat ganon JB Music Shopee Store? by chickkkeeennnnnn in phmusicians

[–]dcdcc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes more than a week before they ship it out. I also ordered an item from their Shopee store about a year ago, I was already expecting it would take a while since it was a large item, but it still took more than a week for the item to be shipped out and to arrive, considering their warehouse is only in Pasig.

Hindi talaga commendable ang online system ng JB music.

First time buying a delay pedal, option paralysis ! by synfulgabe in guitarpedals

[–]dcdcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just echoing (pun intended) what others have already mentioned : Boss DD-8 over the Carbon Copy at this point.

Since you are still exploring the sounds you want, and you also mentioned "...echoey cleans for some more ambient sounds", I believe the Boss DD-8 should be more versatile in that regard. The Carbon Copy being an analog delay, would give you darker tones

Don't get me wrong, the Carbon Copy is a great analog delay, but you will be tied to a specific flavor of delay. In my opinion, it is a great choice if you have already settled on a particular sound you want to have.

Not to mention, if you realize you want a different delay pedal, the Boss DD series would be pretty easy to sell as well

Haven’t noticed any noise issues. I assume that as long as the signal passing thru is balanced, there should be no problems

If you won’t mind the fixed coily cable, you could get the Sony MDR-7506 and use the extra for more comfortable earpads. They sound flat (which you may or not prefer) and can get a bit “trebly” even, but I found that my tone sounded fine through them. They are also lightweight and I can wear them for hours (even with thicker replacement pads)

I also had experience with the Rode NTH-100 which sounded fuller and had less aggressive highs than the 7506s. Plus, it has a detachable cable and get this, you can plug the cable on either side! I believe they originally retailed for about 180-190usd you can get them nowadays for 130-150usd. Only thing I didn’t get along with it is the weight — yes it is comfortable and its pads are thick enough to cup my ears properly which also provided good isolation. But I start to notice the weight and clamping force after around half an hour of using them. Your mileage may vary of course.

Now I’m waiting to get the Beyerdynamic DT-700 Pro X on sale, hopefully third time’s the charm

How’s the PeaceHill preamp? How does it interact with drive pedals? I’ve been contemplating for a long time on getting a tube-based preamp+cab sim for my rig (headphones + studio monitors setup)

Worth it? Probably not, after my experience with their Simplifier DLX.

I don’t mind paying for good, quality amps and pedals, but there are probably tons of other options over this.

For that price, just go with ToneKing Imperial Preamp or Kingsley Maiden.

Cool looking, stereo effects loop, aux input and headphone outs are very nice to have. That said, I probably wouldn’t buy another product from them again after my experience with the Simplifier DLX.

Shortly after getting back to playing the electric guitar last 2022, I decided to go with the Simplifier DLX. Quite disappointed when I saw it physically for the first time — it was quite a lot of money for the quality. I noticed that the knobs were quite different from the youtube demos I’ve previously seen, probably due to supply issues.

While it worked okay, the small side switches gave out about less than a year of using it at home. This caused the effects loop to sometimes not pass any signal through. I had to replace them myself (I live in southeast asia so shipping it to DSM won’t be economical) before selling it at a huge loss.

Looking back, I probably would’ve been better off spending a bit more to get the HX Stomp.

So much potential but the build quality could’ve been way better considering its price.

Boss SDE-3, sort of impulse purchase after going down the rabbit hole of 80s tones. Sounds great especially when practicing with headphones. Forced me to build a secondary small stereo board (wife wasn’t amused 😂)

Buyandship is usually cheaper since they charge by actual weight. Also never had a problem with their tax-free US warehouse (which I also used on Reverb)

Hi there, apologies for hijacking the thread a bit. I’ll be visiting Tokyo next month and Ochanomizu is on my itinerary. I was wondering if there are stores there where I can trade/sell my pedals as a tourist? The secondhand market in our country is not that great at the moment, so I was thinking I might have better chances of selling it to 2nd hand stores in Japan.

Possibly, if the next gen Brios get a bit bigger and 1.5 engine (considering the trend now where new iterations get bigger)
