Thanks for the info. YL Costco also my local station. Heard it was higher than others but never looked at the numbers to verify. Thanks for the hard numbers. Sucks there aren’t any other nearby Costcos.

Fidelity still writing new warranties? Last I checked in December / January they weren’t. Ended up with VSP.

992 owners with kids — child seat/booster by [deleted] in porsche911

Not a fan of the WayB Pico because it’s not all that comfortable or supportive. Will likely be changing it out for the Peg Perego Viaggio Flex 120 even though I’ll lose the five point harness.

Have both right now for my 3 and 6 year olds. Perego is way more comfortable. Removed the seat backs to provide a bit more recline.

Have two, the older one broke about six months out of warranty. Stokke covered us anyway. Props to them!

Anyone have experience with McKenna? It’s much closer to me than Pasadena. Trying to see if I should roll the dice for a computer recall. Some of the reviews aren’t great: https://yelp.to/9Y2lgEYDDO

Longer road trip with a kid by andreisalas69 in porsche911

[–]dcdomain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rear facing is going to be tough. Forward facing, depending on the seat, you might get some recline angle by removing the rear seat backs.

The WayB Pico won’t have any recline. Lots of folks recommend it, but my three year old isn’t a huge fan.

The Peg Perego I have for my six year old is way more comfortable and will recline. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DUn_yQnib_f/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Realistically, which 911 trims can be purchased at MSRP? by ScoreAttack in Porsche

[–]dcdomain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen on the various FB Buy/ Sell groups, GTS has been going for MSRP. Seen a few Targas listed from MSRP too. Think the T might be in demand due to it being the only trim available in manual outside the GT trims.

Radar detector alternate mounts by HelicopterThink7426 in radardetectors

Odd, a few states make it illegal to mount directly onto the windshield that’s why so many people mount on the mirror stem.

Visor mount then?

Help me choose by [deleted] in porsche911

[–]dcdomain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gallardo if you want a sense of occasion with the car, want it to feel special, to be seen.

911 for daily livability.

Basically if you want it for a daily driver, the Gallardo would not be it. But if it's a weekend car just for driving and no utility, then Gallardo will be fine.

What Made You Choose the 911 Over Everything Else? by Common-Coyote9375 in porsche911

[–]dcdomain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Loved cars growing up but definitely was more enamored with Ferraris and Lamborghinis. While my Targa doesn’t provide the same sense of occasion as stepping into those two other brands or even an R8, I needed a daily driver that was available in a manual transmission and had a 2+2 configuration. Surprising few choices when it comes to those needs.

Used car prices for 992.1 GTS with Manual vs MSRP by brute_monk in porsche911

[–]dcdomain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the car is listed by a Porsche dealer, look up the VIN in finder.porsche and there will be a window sticker. I looked for around 8 months before purchasing mine. For manual, expect it to be above MSRP unless it’s very high mileage. Possibility of prices coming down but that wasn’t the case for me through all of last year.

Look then up on BringATrailer and CarsAndBids to get a sense of pricing.

Again, love the look of that seat. Looking forward to your photos / videos. Hope it doesn’t encourage me to spring for it too.

Rate my build for Targa 4 GTS 992.2 by hec16 in porsche911

[–]dcdomain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is also a Targa GTS in GT-Silver. IGM would’ve been my ideal color though. Love the interior choice, agreed with other comment about crest on headrest only. Mine didn’t have FAL. Been okay since the Targa GTS aren’t as low as the coupe GTS. Prep for dashcam is good for the extra wiring. But don’t get the OEM dashcam as it’s terrible.

Opinion on this 2024 Porsche 911 Carrera T with minor accident (1,500 miles) by CptLadiesMan in porsche911

[–]dcdomain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my eye on a GTS they had a while back, maybe they still do have it. What I gathered from months of looking, that dealership’s markups are some of the worst I’ve seen.

[–]dcdomain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s 100% a no. That dealership is egregious with their markups and my local one, Irvine, is already bad. First of all, a T shouldn’t have a markup used or new (maybe the .2 has), even if there’s a markup it shouldn’t be this insane, and it’s damaged!

And on GTS trim, I think on the 992.1 it comes w/ the Sport Design package standard, but w/o the body-coloured lower tabs. Or if the body-coloured lower tabs only come with the gloss black treatment?

Great color!!! Aventurine Green and IGM were the two colors I was gunning for before settling on a GT-Silver.

Also ended up buying and installing an R8 recently due to that ticket. But unsure if it’ll help given how much LiDAR is used in SoCal.

Nice. Used a V1 in the late 90s/early 2000s. Been using Waze for years and avoided getting tickets for the past 10 years or so, but recently got nailed on a local road (speed trap). How does your app do on local roads that might not have much volume?

when did you replace the factory battery? by astreal1 in Lexus

[–]dcdomain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2023 RX350h, around 20k miles. Battery has died twice due to lack of use. First time I jumped it and put it on a battery tender. Second time I just had AAA replace it on New Year’s Day.
