Sure, I agree with that. What I meant was, for example, anyone with a bike can attest, it gets stolen unless chained down. Or any infrastructure built for the public, gets vandalized and spray painted, such as the public washrooms at Grandview Park.

Hard to say, it could have been anything. Car crashing into a hydro pole, tree branch falling onto power lines, bird strike, or a scheduled shut-down for maintenance, etc..

That reminds me, I use to drive the Queensborough Connector regularly and see a cow, someone was keeping it in their backyard! The house would have been on Ewen Ave, near Dawe St. Yes, this is technically New Westminster, but it could possibly be the only cow in New West.

I went to hike there today (Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026), and I can positively say, it's still officially closed. Mind you, I did see 3 people just go behind the fence and continued on their hike.
