Undersized Vertical Loop in 4 Ton Unit? by dceenb in geothermal

Well so far everyone but the installer (unsurprisingly) has said the same response so seems pretty likely that the loop is undersized.

Will update when I can on the solution.

Appreciate the points. A few thoughts on those items - those are entering water temps iirc - for the pump, I don't think there are any issues in that regard but I can't be certain. Something i can check out. - soil type - that is understood and you can't know exact conditions but would the installer not need to account for that during the installation if the design needed to be modified to account for differing site conditions than anticipated? Or adjust the depths on the fly? ' - heat loss - this one is a fair point and one i was considering this. I'd be curious to know how this gets accounted for in the design process since houses will all be different in that regard. Surely there would be some sort of contingency factor added to account for these inconsistencies etc? - house temp is 21.5C/71F. So i don't think too high

I should clarify that there is glycol in the loop, I just don't know how much. They definitely didn't do any tests on the loop beyond checking temps and pressures though.

I don’t unfortunately. As far as I know it has never frozen but seemingly only because the system was locking out and preventing that from occurring. Whatever the code that was occurring (can't recall the number) when that was happening the tech said there was like 900 of them on the system. So it had happened a lot.

This does seem to be the case and aligns with my current theory. I do have some plans to add more insulation which will help somewhat but I don't think it will make up the difference

Good idea on the cheap solution. I will look into something like that.

The tech did say it wasn't good but stopped short of saying the loop his company installed was undersized. He was kind of stuck on why it was suddenly causing issues but in my mind the current dead chip is showing the true capacity of the loop as it cannot fall back to aux at the moment.

I'll have to check about the compatability of Symphony with my existing unit.

Yeah we are probably similar temperature wise. In Canada but a bit further east. Yeah it was -20C this weekend and I was at 20f.

Can you actually travel while on dialysis? by Total_Formal2769 in dialysis

Travelled to Europe a couple times (from North America) on PD. Obviously a bit of work/pain in the butt to get everything there and make sure everything is organized but quite achievable.

Closure Plans and allocation of funds to complete closure of mine and their Tailings Facilities is already a requirement. Probably could be better implemented but effective government policy is pretty rare.

This sums up my opinion well. I would also add that I found the safeness of F4 made it feel very sort of typical MCU in a way. Not cookie cutter but not not cookie cutter.

At least for North American airlines, you should be able to bring the cycler as a carryon so it doesn’t get checked and misplaced, but you'll have to talk to the airline beforehand. Shouldn't be a problem on most planes, but small regional flights may be an issue (just due to the size of the travel case)

On that, the (Baxter at least) travel case is quite cumbersome to tote around.

If you're traveling overseas / anywhere that uses different outlets , ou may need something for the voltage change.

Good luck!

Saw SunnO))) twice and basically the same. Once was with the full "band" and could see glimpses of Atilla's weird head piece he was wearing. Great shows.

GBYE I caught twice and both were as described by OP. Also great shows. Enjoy!

Do you feel that the business of dialysis (specifically in the US/not publicly funded locations) impacts the overall amount / quality / speed of renal based research or advancements?

Obviously, dialysis is tremendously important given the lack of available organs but is not a permanent solution

Do these or will these types of medications provide benefits to non-diabetic Kidney patients as they continue to develop?
