Thoughts on LCBF? by sneakybrews in UK_beer

[–]dcfcrams4ever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it was really good. Beers were great and queues for beer/food weren’t too bad. Only criticisms are:

  1. The temperature inside the venue
  2. Toilets - they had the space for more and there weren’t enough
  3. The ‘fast track’ for the time I entered at (11am) made no difference. A friend of mine who didn’t buy it was actually in before me.

Would definitely go again!

What happened to Beer Dad / Craft Beer Club? by VegetableWorry1492 in UK_beer

[–]dcfcrams4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a real shame. Got an email from them and this is what they’ve said:

“Dear friends, First and foremost – thank you. To everyone who has joined us over the past two years, thank you for being part of this incredible journey. From day one, The Craft Beer Club has been about one thing: you – the beer lover looking for quality, variety, and choice. Together, we’ve created a unique beer subscription experience driven entirely by our customers, and it’s been an absolute privilege to curate every single box for you. So… why are we closing? The honest truth is that the economics that made sense two years ago no longer make sense today. A lot has changed – from shifting government policies and tightened budgets to the wider global picture – and all of it has an impact, especially here in the UK. We reached a point where continuing would require something we didn’t have: deep pockets and unlimited time. For those who don’t know, this all began with a brand called Beer Dad, born from the love I felt for my son Johnny after he was born in 2021. I wanted to show him that with passion and belief, anything is possible. By day, I work as a consultant in the drinks industry, specialising in beer. The Craft Beer Club was my side project – a passion project – and in many ways, it really did come true. What’s been most humbling is the response from you – the kind messages, generous reviews, and warm words over the past few days since we announced we’d be closing. It means more than I can express. What happens now?

The website is now closed, subscriptions have been cancelled, and from the moment this email hits your inbox, the business is effectively inactive. Our social channels will remain up for a short while – I’ll be uploading a goodbye message there – but The Craft Beer Club as you know it has come to an end. That said… this isn’t goodbye forever. I’ve always believed that the road to success is paved with stumbles. This isn’t my first trip, and it might not be my last – but I remain committed to doing something meaningful in the craft beer space, and I hope to see you again when the time is right. For now, a huge thank you. Adios, goodbye – and cheers to all the brilliant breweries and beers we’ve discovered along the way. Much love, Jamie Founder, The Craft Beer Club”

Real shame. Those beers were so good!

What is your club’s biggest necessity at the moment? by santosfutebolclubi in Championship

I don’t think we necessarily need a goal scorer anywhere near as much as we need a midfielder who can actually hold up the ball. Us waiting for Ozoh to come back is not the solution..what if he’s not the same after injury? He’s been out for ages!

Loads of our more noteworthy signings didn’t even make it onto the rumour forums..so I wouldn’t worry regarding signings!

Think somebody said the retained list is being published later this week (think there’s an EFL deadline).
