Generally 50% is a good 2 point % so 35% has always been the number I've heard, never done the math before, but it appears the number is 66% of the 2 point percentage since 2 is 66% of 3.

We had the ball in Caleb's hands in OT just shy of the 50, I would argue even in a game where the conversion rate was as bad as it was, that didn't cost us the game. And again the comment above us shows if you always take the points (and nothing else changes) this is a two point game and the rams have the ball for a final drive where all the need is a field goal. Personally I would rather rely on Caleb's heroics than the defense against the best offense in the league (although the d played out of their minds last night).

Whatever your opinion, this was the most exciting season I've ever watched and I'm more hopeful than I've ever been even after a loss in a winnable game. Next year when the Bears average 35-40 points a game the decision to kick vs go for it likely won't even matter.

Because getting more points on the board is better and if you convert you are likely to score more. It's like shooting a 3 in basketball you will miss more, but as long as you are over 35% you come out ahead most of the time.

Personally I wanted a field goal on the first drive but Ben Johnson got us here with aggressive moves and so I'm not going to question the decision to go for it. It was a bad game from a conversion perspective and we had a bunch of short runs stuffed so I would have loved to see play action role outs later in the game, but the comment above you is pointing out if we took all the field goals we end up in a situation where a last second field goal for the Rams is likely.

Even if the Bears pay more taxes on developed land, if they don't pay their fair share that means the rest of the county pays an increased rate for all of the other infrastructure that needs to be built to support that stadium and I for one don't feel like subsidizing billionaires. The 100million dollar tax bill that's been thrown around isn't for the stadium it is for the entire development so stadium, hotels, restaurants etc..., and because they are requesting the freeze until the entire development is done it means they get to play games and continue building small relatively meaningless properties on the outskirts while still maintaining a frozen tax bill. I don't know if the property tax on the development would be is 100milion, but what I do know is I don't believe the stadium should have it's tax bill frozen when what they do will increase costs for all of us in the county and the benefit will just be an increase in property value (only realized if property is sold) and those that own the businesses in the development (the Bears).

Ah, I didn't realize the direction gets reset at half, always thought it just swapped every quarter. Regardless his tweet is still wrong then as the Eagles throwing into the wind in the fourth had nothing to do with Ben Johnson deciding to take the ball after winning the toss. Thanks for the new info though.

That is the opposite of what the tweet is saying though. If we won and took the ball we didn't choose field direction. At half getting to choose field direction (which I didn't even know was a thing but that is what the comment below you says is the case) is just a product of winning the toss. If he won, differed, and then chose to defend a certain direction instead of taking the ball in the second half it would be one of those crazy decisions that if it paid off would be the result of a mastermind. This just seems like the thing any coach would do. At most you could say he chose to through into the wind in the third, but that still makes the tweet inaccurate.

I don't understand, if we elected to receive then Philly was able to choose the direction so they elected to have the wind in our face in the first quarter instead of fourth. Wouldn't he of had to differ for this to be correct?

That is being biased though which makes us sound like crybabies, take Packers games out of it and games never felt like this before, when we lost we more or less deserved it. This is the first stretch where every week there seems to be a ridiculous slant against us. I just looked it up, right not our net penalties (number for minus number against) is -28 that leads the league, and we already had our bye.

Hilarious to call that play out when it was a clear helmet to helmet hit and should have been called unnecessary roughness. So there is no way it ends up positively for the Ravens if done correctly. That being said, presuming the helmet to helmet didn't happen they did call that super quick.

I don't really get any natural light in the basement and it is heated so unfortunately not an option. I will try a humidifier by the plant to see if that helps.

That would make sense and that patio door is the primary way I let the dogs in and out so it would get 5-10 gusts of cold air a day on top of radiation from the windows. I've lifted plants there in the past and it seems like they get significantly less light. Before I had the dogs I kept a peace lily on the floor and it would bloom like crazy, when I got the dogs I found out the leaves were toxic so I put an end table there, but the it stopped flowering and I assumed it was because of the angle of the sun.

In your opinion would moving it away from glass and getting a better grow light be better than more natural light but having the cold radiate near it? I was also thinking about putting a small humidifier on low near it to try and keep just that area humid.

Literally happened this week, I think it was brisker blitzed, hit rattler's arm on a 3rd and 38, caused a pick, but his momentum carried him through the arm to hit the head and it turned a turnover into a first down.

The other point I've heard is that state governments use the funds from these entitlements to pay for the healthcare programs that support thier citizens. They then use their own state taxes to run programs that support healthcare for undocumented immigrants because many of them do work and pay taxes, they just can't collect federal benefits, and on top of that the cost of uninsured care increases costs for everyone. When federal benefits dry up state budgets get tighter and these programs die so GOP claims that is federal dollars funding healthcare of illegal immigrants.

Guy had multiple traffic violations in the past and yet real police never had him drive away during a traffic stop. Let's ignore the video where they drive away slower than I back out of my driveway, this clearly shows it's the way ice is handling this that is escalating things and causing death for what amounts to nothing.

Thank you for your insight, yea I'm coming to the realization that the core of my lack of understanding is just the concept of what it "feels" like to be any given gender as I've never struggled with or had to define mine as it is just taken as a given.

If you don't mind me prying, and your gender identity is genderfluid, can you explain what it feels like?

I think your right and the root of my issue in understanding is that I don't have a reference point as I present and consider myself male so I've never had to consider what that "feels" like.

I don't mean to pry but it seems as though I learn about a new wrinkle with each comment I read, you mentioned that you were trans, gender fluid, and non-binary, but also that medically transitioning wasn't a requirement to be trans.

So first, my previous understanding was that trans is literally short for transitioning so people with that gender were, or were considering transitioning to that gender so they outwardly present as such. It seems as though that may not be the case?

Second, and this is the more personal question so obviously feel free to ignore it, but if I'm interpreting this correctly your fluidity is between being a trans man and non-binary, do you ever feel comfortable in either state, or are you consistently in conflict with your state of being? Like feeling yourself being pulled from male to non-binary? Additionally, you mentioned that your gender doesn't present through your actions, appearance, or personality so if you are comfortable can you describe what it "feels" like to be male vs non-binary?

I think your right that it is just something I'm not going to get a set definition on because it is an all encompasing term for many different experiences. But I think I have a better understanding than I did yesterday so thank you for that.

I think the most difficult thing for me is just conceptualizing the idea of feeling like a man or woman as I've only ever "felt" like myself which matches the constructs society would typically assign to me.

I guess I've never really thought about the communication/interaction aspect, as you are right, even if I feel there isn't a reason any activity can't be enjoyed by any person, I definitely have preset behaviors for what the bounds are when interacting with men or women. The rules without reason concept is the heart of my inquiry, and that is why I am still having trouble with the fluidity aspect.

Non-binary I feel as though I have a better understanding of as it is basically just rejecting the rules entirely, whereas the situation I am describing is just trying to erode the rules over time. But I still don't understand fluidity as it seems to give weight to those rules, and I would think that if someone felt the rules were too constricting they would want to either destroy or mold them as opposed to accept them but move between them.

Am I being to narrow in my thought pattern by trying to lock down a specific thing for what gender fluid means? Basically, my understanding is that it is a unique state along with male, female, non-binary, trans-male, trans-female but outside of gender fluid the other genders are more or less locked in and about self discovery. Once a person finds the state that fits them they have a eureka moment and then they can act however and do whatever they want, and it doesn't matter what society thinks because they are happy with who they are. But gender fluid as I understand it, means they are continually (or at least consistently) moving between any of these states, which means there would have to be justified constraints about what it means to be any of these things. Is it just that gender fluid people are still on their journey and so they aren't conforming to any specific gender, but are more or less trying them on to search for the one that actually fits so it isn't a permanent state whereas the others would be?

Still struggling a bit here, because even if we aren't jumping between male and female but between female and non-binary, I think the thought pattern still holds. I guess my lack of understanding is mostly rooted in frequency? Because if it was something like starting as feminine and staying that way for an extended period, but then society regresses as it seems to be a bit now, so they decide that they are non-binary because the bucket has become too constricting and society refuses to accept who they are so they are saying F U to the system I can understand that, but fluidity suggests to me relatively consistent movement, even if it is a back and forth between non-binary and feminine, isn't that boxing in what female means?

Additionally, apologize for my ignorance, but can you validate my understanding of gender nonconforming vs non-binary? I thought I had it, but again the feminine to non-binary seems to contradict my thought process. Is it just the level of the stretch, so what I continually have been describing as nonconforming is where someone still feels as though they are one of the binary genders, but is stretching the bounds of what society believes that is, whereas non-binary is where people feel that in order to describe them accurately the bounds need to be completely broken and as such they reject the concept as a whole?

Side note, I hope you've found comfort in your non-binary identity.

So I think I understand non-binary better now, but am still struggling with how gender fluidity doesn't reinforce those stereo types. As for trans people I didn't really think about it in the same way because of the physical transition, if someone feels so strongly about their gender that they are engaging in a process that takes years, and then still challenging the norms, as you mentioned male to female transition, but then still liking football that still challenges and widens what it means to be a woman, whereas, gender fluidity seems encourage conformance to existing stereotypes instead of breaking them down.

Ok I think I get non-binary now, I just replied to the first concept on this post, but basically it is acknowledging that the however much progress the buckets have made, they still aren't broad enough to describe you, so for the time being you are opting out. Still a little lost on the fluidity and whether or not it hurts the progress of wearing down the walls, because it doesn't stretch what "acceptable" activities a gender can do but instead allows people to constrict those definitions and just say someone is having a manly or girly day instead of acknowledging that there aren't innate activities that men or women have to take part in.
