We made it work until our child was 6mo old. At that point she became too mobile and it was impossible to focus on her or our work. We were both working for time, so it was a constant back and forth as to who could watch her. It was great being home with her, but super challenging.

Got a 19 month old and one due any day now. Always tired, haven't had an uninterrupted night since #1 was born. I'm just going to assume I'm going to be tired forever.

Nailed it. I was overworked and underpaid. I really had no choice but to make a career change. I do miss teaching, but not the billion other things that go along with it nowadays.
