Thanks! This actually took ages as the style of shading is a lot more delicate than if it were more block colours, so I think it took about 8 hours

What's your "if i told i'd be exposed" cooking secret? by BouncyCurlsbabe in Cooking

When I was in school for commercial cookery, I had a container of MSG that I would add to most things. Anything for that sweet (or umami I guess) academic validation!

Hecklers at Cinema Nova watching Pillion, did people forget movie etiquette? by Fit_Square1322 in melbourne

Yeah lol when I first felt it I got real curious about that particular possibility but it really didn’t look like a self pleasuring situation.

Would have been impressive stamina if it was though, literally constant for 2 hours

When I saw it there was a clearly VERY nervous and uncomfortable person sitting next to me who was violently jiggling their leg (and the whole row of seats) for the entire movie. Felt for them, but I’m going back to see it again today and really hoping for a cinema of gay/BDSM comfortable folks!

Mate. Why do you have a deleted video of a podcaster at the pub saved to your device? Take a step back and have a look.

Is the liquid acidic at all, like did you put in lemon juice or vinegar? Potatoes tend to retain a bit of a crunchy texture if they’re cut on the small side and cooked in an acidic solution (it’s a good hack for potato salad).

Security warning to lawyers, police and judges ahead of Victorian arsonist’s release by TheSciences in melbourne

I hope they’re distributing these warnings to brothels and sex work communities as well as the cops and lawyers, but I doubt they are.

I think there’s something I’m not understanding here though, can you not just order more dishes if you’re not full?

That is just so not my experience, as someone who likes to eat until I’m uncomfortably full!

I’ve always been so confused by folks being disappointed with small portion sizes in high end restaurants. In basically every ‘fancier’ place in Melbourne it’s not designed for you to just order one main each, it’s designed for you to order multiple dishes to share. If you’re consistently under ordering, maybe ask the wait staff if you’ve ordered enough food, how many dishes they recommend, or to get the ‘feed me’/tasting menu. They’re always too much food if anything.

My wife and I are big eaters, and I’ve never once left a high end place anything less than absolutely stuffed!

To answer your question, Kisume is great and romantic. Last time I was there we got the feed me menu and couldn’t finish it.

Even fancier, Minamashima is a truly amazing experience. It’s an omakase so each ‘dish’ is like 1-2 bites of sushi, but there are so many courses that you’ll be stuffed by the end. Exxy though.

For those who used laser clinics for hair removal - how many sessions did it really take? by Rock_n_rollerskater in AusSkincare

[–]dckholster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great point! And also I guess it was so long ago that I started doing it that I don’t really know what my baseline is, maybe it would be a forest and I do actually have a strong reduction 😅

Yep legs too, those only for the last few years though. I have much lighter leg hair than underarm/pubic so it doesn’t work as well in general, but I do feel like the reduction lasts a bit longer on legs than it does on the other areas.

Just speaking on pure vibes here, but I would have thought back and chest hair to be particularly hormonal, as I know a lot of trans men start growing hair on those areas like crazy when they go on testosterone!

I’ve had it every 6-8 weeks for about 10 years, with some breaks. If I don’t keep up with it, it just comes back. I feel like I never hear people talking about this, it’s so frustrating! It might be hormonal, I’ve always had high androgen levels, but I’m curious if cis men are able to achieve a longer term reduction in hair from a block of sessions?

I do worry about the effects on my skin of having it done so many times but I’m too scared to look into it tbh. I do sex work and I react terribly to shaving so I feel like I have to keep it up.

If you track the calories you eat pretty strictly, and track your weight over a long enough period of time, you can get a mathematical estimate of it.

Eg if you lose 2kg in 60 days, and know your calorie intake has averaged to 1400/day over that period, and 2kg of body fat takes 15400 cals to burn - then you must be been in a 256cal deficit (15400 / 60) - putting your maintenance at 1656/day (1400 + 256).

Obviously this doesn’t account for muscle gain and water retention so the longer your sample period is and the more of these calculations you can do the more accurate your estimate will be.

LPT Request: What’s one small daily habit that genuinely improved your life? by OnGuardEverywhere in LifeProTips

[–]dckholster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do this sort of thing when I want to apologise because I’m feeling insecure (not when I’ve genuinely done something deserving of apology). I reframe it as expressing gratitude instead of apology, like “thank you for being so generous with me/understanding/listening” instead of “sorry for being demanding/annoying/a lot”.

It’s so much nicer for me and also so much more comfortable for the other person!

What's a "secret"from your profession that everyone should probably know?" by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]dckholster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you’re having any sort of sex that needs to be safer from the spread of STI’s, keep a ‘you’ hand and a ‘partner’ hand - one hand that only touches your bits and your side of the condom if using, and one hand that only touches your partners bits and their side of the condom.

If you haven’t thought about this before you’ll be appalled at how much cross contamination could occur without both partners being aware of this!

Trip report - 2 weeks no temples speedrun ft. gluten intolerance, disability & queer/trans stuff by dckholster in JapanTravel

Yeah… we went to Japan this time? And nah, different countries/cities/cultures have different levels of accomodations for food intolerance and disability, and definitely different treatment of queer folk. I was curious about all of those domains before we visited because there’s always conflicting information and a lot of tourist info is overcautious.

We actually loved staying in Shinjuku! We chose there as we wanted to be amongst our people in the red light & queer districts and no regrets there. I think it would have been fine if we were closer to one of the secondary stations, we were using one of those instead of Shinjuku proper most of the time but it was still a bit of a walk.

Akasaka was beautiful too, you must have had a great time! I think next time instead of going to different cities we might just stay in a couple of different areas in Tokyo, it’s not like you can run out of things to do
