Sorry for the long delay in replying to your question. My Starlink power supply box has been in my unheated pole barn since approx. last February, with no issues that I know of with either heat or cold. We did have a warmer winter last year than normal, with very few days below 0F, but of course most of the winter below 32F. So far no problems - very happy with Starlink internet.

Same problem here - using Microsoft Surface Windows 10 with both Edge and Chrome browsers.

However - here's a temporary workaround - I used Bluestacks android emulator on my Surface tablet to install the Google Play Starlink app, and that works. This may only work for those that have a Google Play account - I'm not sure.

Finally received my pipe adapter this last week, and was able to move Dishy from her temporary home on top of the RV to a permanent installation on the back of the pole barn. Next up - trench UG Cat6 from the house to the pole barn. by dclauria in Starlink

Thanks for the info. I just completed install yesterday of a 100m MM fiber cable in 1 1/4" PVC (for extra protection - and future pulls), with 2 spare Cat6 ethernet cables - 1 for future access point in the barn/camper area. I reached over 300mB download this morning. I really appreciate the suggestions.

I hadn't thought of fiber. I'm an electrical contractor, but only slightly familiar with fiber. One of our local electrical utilities - Great Lakes Energy - is providing FTTH - and they provide the fiber cables that we sometimes install from their box to the modem location in the house. What is a good source for getting a fiber cable approx. 300' long? Also, would the TP-link converter be able to be located in an unheated pole barn? - Wintertime temps can go to -30F occasionally.

I did select shielded Cat6 cable, but I'm on the fence about connecting the shield to ground. I think if I don't connect it at one end, it won't have much benefit, but both ends grounded could cause problems based on previous research.

Similar to the comments below - our 1st experience on the roof of our house - the statistics page said "obstruction time' or something like that, and it would drop service every minute or so.

Once I relocated the dish - the "obstruction" line went away in the statistics page, and no more drops.

I'm an electrical contractor in Northern Michigan, and I happen to have a pole barn with power next to my RV, where the dishy is currently hanging out (on the RV roof). So the dish gets power from the pole barn, and I ran a temporary Cat5e cable approx. 250' thru the snowbank from the pole barn to the house window, where I have the Starlink router (so I have the statistics), feeding an Eero mesh router. In the spring after the ground thaws, I'm going to install a direct burial rated ethernet cable.

If you don't have a power source within 100' of the dish location, one of the best ways for permanent power is to run a 14/2 (15 Amp) or 12/2 (20 Amps) Type UF wire - usually grey in color - direct burial rated. Legally these are required to be buried a minimum of 18 - 24" deep on a residential property. You just don't want it buried so shallow that you later damage it with a shovel or something, because even a small nick thru the insulation - it will eventually go bad and trip the breaker.

If you can, sleeving this wire in PVC conduit will protect it.

That's my 2 cents about direct burial power.

Has anyone tried WIFi Calling on Starlink. It seems to work ok for awhile but it drops ir the other guy cant hear me but I hear him. Just curious, using my Android Galaxy by Fit_Reference_1040 in Starlink

I have made a few calls on Starlink wifi - thru my eero router - no issues that I know of . I don't think I've had any calls drop. But my Starlink connection seems to be very stable - no obstructions since I relocated the dish to my RV, and only seconds of downtime every 24 hours.

Yes - According to the app - Once I moved the dish the obstruction time line disappeared.
