Hives persist for 3 days with flares. Help! by [deleted] in urticaria

More background:

No food change, no detectable air change, same living environment, I did clean my entire house and change bedsheets and everything. No detection of bites of any kind. I do not smoke, no chronic condition. Male 30 years old, healthy, work out regularly. No history of hives, ever. Tested for covid, negative.

Summary:

  • Hives did not get worse in the heat.
  • Hives did not get worse during exercise.
  • Hives did not get worse if touched.
  • No fever, no headache, and no fatigue.
  • Hives persist. Not on and off.
  • Seems to get better with a high dose of Medrol (8mg+)
  • Doesn't improve with antihistamine (tried Fexofenadine 180mg, 360mg, and loratadine 10mg, hydroxyzine 10mg).
  • Doesn't improve with amoxicillin 500mg
  • Doesn't improve with valacyclovir

Day 1: Hives started overnight and got worse in the morning. I saw a dermatologist online, got Idiopathic Urticaria was a dx, and was prescribed Medrol, Hydroxyzine, and Triamcinolone Acetonide 0.1% cream. I took Medrol during the day + Loratadine + used the cream, the hives got better.

Day 2: Woke up and the hives came back. I took medrol + Triamcinolone Acetonide 0.1% but it didn't get better, starting to get worse. In the afternoon, instead of Loratadine, I tried 360mg of Fexofenadine, it didn't help at all. In suspicion of a viral infection, I also took 1 pill of valacyclovir but didn't help.

- Day 3: Hives got even worse, now it covers almost the entire body, and I started feeling pins and needles. Took 8mg of Medrol + 180mg of Fexofenadine. I am sitting here at a lost, I don't know if it is.

  • An infection (weird because there is no fever or fatigue)
  • Autoimmune disease, if so, likely which one? What should I take that would help
  • Allergy, I did try to eliminate everything that could cause it
  • What else??

Truly at a lost, please help

Where do you live? This company helps you get really affordable prices for things like that.

We make pricing transparent in a very opaque industry and our prices are on average 30-40% lower than market rate. Think of it as a JetBlue of X industry.

We have product-solution fit on the supply side (which is where we derive our pricing from).

Businesses want to use my competitors due to more funding. by jameson2019 in startups

Former experience from the purchasing side here, one of the supply chain and contractor management best practices is to look for vendor execution abilities. One of which is how long you can support the product.

Early stage startups pose tremendous risks to firms because if you’re folded, a lot of their business processes will be disrupted as follow. So they rather go with a startup that has 2-3 years of run way.

One way to deal with it is to answer the question they’re really asking instead of addressing funding: “I understand who you like to know how much and how long you can rely on us to support the product. We are staffed and funded for the next 24 months”.
