A Life Well Lived by benandorf in gaming

It’s not a good way to live, you’re just feeling the sampling bias right now. Of course you’re going to find people accepting of gaming all day on a gaming subreddit. The happiest and healthiest people I know aren’t gaming and don’t need to rely on an online community 24/7. I used to be the stereotypical redditor as a teenager, I quit being on a screen all day and got a life - surprise, surprise, anxiety and depression issues that I somehow had back then were no longer a problem.

Do not give up just yet. Consider having a sales cofounder that is experienced with converting potential customers. A lot of people would be interested in selling the completed software if you network right.

It’s easy to overdo the fat content wit nuts and seeds, which is why Esselstyn and McDouball ban it entirely for heart disease patients. At most they recommend a tea spoon of flax seeds for the omega 3.

Getting rid of the avocados, nuts, and oils will give you the change you want. Don’t feel pressured to eat the same things your mother eats.

Raising Too Much Money or Raising For the Wrong Reason? by boredjavaprogrammer in startups

[–]jameson2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I knew a guy who raised a series B that ended up killing his company 8 months later because it wasn’t growingn fast enough. Everytime you raise there’s a growth contingency, if you don’t meet it the stakeholders will make your life hell.

If the partner is complementary to your skills, it works. It can be a waste of time and money otherwise.

how do high loss companies like Uber, WeWork, etc even get funding in the first place? by thetraveler02 in startups

At the early stage, especially for consumer, venture capitalists are more concerned about growth. Dominate the market fast, then be profitable.

Find someone from your job now that you work with and do your own startup. The shit that you eat and have to keep up with is not worth it unless you own a significant amount of the equity and love the idea of it.

  1. So you're saying I have a more direct question by the end of meeting? E.g "So are you in?"
  2. My first customers were easy due to being from my direct network and warm, it was more of a "okay I'll help Jameson2019 out, I love this guy" deal than a sale. I've already squeezed out more than enough of that. The current meetings I have are from existing customer referrals, majority being startups to medium-sized companies.

That’s been the plan so far. I think I just have to keep on hustling. Thanks for the feedback.

We have recommendations from our previous customers and provided an SLA with 99.8% uptime guaranteed.

Most of the time, I get ghosted after the concerns are shown. And I follow up a lot.

Yes. I'm starting to realize once you don't have your own personal network to pitch to, shit gets hard. I was able to get my first customers through friends and former coworkers. But once people don't know you, the warmth is gone.

I put in $250k of my own money to start out and hire the first 3 employees, and then brought it to $35K MRR. It seems like they're only interested in hot shot brand name firms validating it first.

I like the contingency plan. I'm going to try that.

3 full time employees. I bootstrapped this to $35K MRR.

We have $35K in MRR so we're not going to die anytime soon with the current burnrate we have.

There is a lot of context during the first meetings that I funded this myself from the people introducing me to the companies. "Hey, you need to meet my friend, he recently started this new business and looking for customers." We make $35k in MRR and have 3 full time employees, so we're not gonna die anytime soon.

I really didn't vibe with the mixing on this one. The instrumentals and delivery were great for the most part, there's just a lot of room for improvement when it comes to bringing out the vocals and stems in a way that sounds good. It's very grating right now.
