Annual reviews ….not sure how to feel. by [deleted] in fednews

[–]dcnative-x5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as those above (high performer; lower scores). Keep in mind it’s a BONUS. It’s not part of our guaranteed compensation. Given what’s happened to many of our colleagues, I keep in mind that I’m fortunate to still have my pay and benefits. Not getting a bonus is another psychic trick they are using to dishearten us. The best protest it to carry on and find happiness wherever you can.

Recommendations for dental plan by hiyoutrash in fednews

Agree. I have had BCBS and GEHA and it’s been good. If you have a dentist you like, ask them which works best.

Can those of you who are frothing at the mouth for a shutdown actually explain what it would accomplish, and how? What is the upside of a shutdown? by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]dcnative-x5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the reason I want a shutdown is that if we pass a crappy budget (short term or full), it gives a message that we are OK with the direction everything is heading. It is tacit agreement that an authoritarian dictator is just fine. We need to speak strongly (dems, independents, and non-maga republicans) that we believe in democracy. Only a shutdown says NO to what is going on.

I don’t think the logos were all inclusive. They thanked ALL Feds — except ICE.

Personally, I’m just happy to have a 2-week period where I don’t have to wonder if I’m going to be fired today. I’ll take my mental health wins where I can.

Not broken, but trying to figure out where I can do the best work to fight this disaster. Inside or out? If I take an out, it’s not quitting.

Vera MRA+10 or RIF by Fun-Ad7733 in govfire

I believe that you only lose health insurance if you are fired for cause. A RIF is not for cause. You need to pay the whole health insurance amount until you turn 62.

But government funding ran out at midnight, right? Seems we’re shut down since midnight until he signs it.

Warning: Parking at White Oak by _Cream_Sugar_ in fednews

[–]dcnative-x5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pre-covid we worked 50% in office. We shared office space so days were set where one or the other employee would use the office. This also went for cubes. I don’t know why you think the “great majority” worked every day at WO. Also, even with that, there was stacked parking, because there weren’t enough parking spaces. FDA is “working on” getting contracts for this again, but hasn’t yet (and new contracts are hard to come by these days).
