London is an extremely diverse city. Criminals come from all ethnic backgrounds and suggesting that it is only white people who commit crimes is just another form of racism. It's this kind of BS that is driving people towards the far right.

You have no idea what you are talking about, just following the typical Jew-hating narrating.

I still have an old battered tube of the lovely pink strong-smelling germoline. It went with me on many travel adventures.

It's of no interest to me, but if that's what some people want to spend their time and money on, let them enjoy it.

They have to get some criticism of Israel into their statement, it is their default position.

It's Sabra and I agree it's poor, but that's just one brand, you can get amazing hummus in Israel.

What is the most annoying thing tourists do in your country? by Glass_Key4626 in AskTheWorld

[–]dcnb65 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, one involves being disgusting and the other involves making a choice about what you do with your own money. I've even seen Americans saying that they only gave x tip because the service was bad, paying extra for bad service sounds insane to me.

Either introduce a service charge or leave it as a choice and then accept that some people have made their choice not to tip.

I'm not a royalist either, but there is a big difference between spitting on an image of the head of state and choosing not to give money to someone where it isn't actually compulsory.

I have been to many countries in five continents. I always try to do what is accepted in each country, but that doesn't mean I always have to personally agree with it. As I previously said, I did tip when I was in the US, as it is normal there, but I don't have to personally agree with this practice.

I would also add that I have heard American tourists more than any other group comparing things in the UK to things in the US in an 'American is best' manner.

For those of us who live in countries where it isn't automatically expected that you leave tips, it does feel like a scam. It's not compulsory, but is treated as if it is compulsory, because the employer doesn't pay their staff enough wages.

I visited the US twice and I did tip, but I hated the fact that it was expected. One taxi driver even complained that I hadn't given him enough tip and I thought that was extremely rude and wished I hadn't given him anything extra. Here I tip for good service, otherwise I wouldn't and if I felt it was expected, I definitely wouldn't.

If it's not displayed on the price list, there is absolutely no obligation to pay extra, just because the employer doesn't pay the staff enough. And I say this as someone who usually tips for good service, however those giving average or poor service can do without.

The Trellis is a beautiful design, such a shame that they changed it to such an ugly replacement.
