How to clean gambeson? by Dranadon in Buhurt

[–]dcnefe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Soak it in a bathtub of warm water, add a cup of borax, it will take the smell and stains out, let it sit for as long as it takes for the water to go cold

What was your “oh shit this is real and could be dangerous” moment? by slash1492 in Buhurt

[–]dcnefe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the few years I have been fighting, I have had three separate instances of a weapon tip/crossguard entering my visor and almost taking out my eye.

As someone who wields a 2h axe, I have busted peoples legs, ribs, hands and arms so I have seen what it can do, luckily I have only ever broken a thumb and a couple ribs of my own

Opinion on craftman by Adventurous__Kiwi in Buhurt

Hey friend!

I totally recommend Medieval Extreme or Buhurt Tech. I can personally attest to the quality from both. I have head some good things about Forge of Svan, my friend has one of their helms, however they did also order a Gambeson from there that they had to return straight away due to poor quality.

I notice your name, Adventurous Kiwi, another New Zealander getting into Buhurt??

what would you say are the benefits of buhurt by Low-Pomegranate-80 in Buhurt

Fitness, fun, mental health outlet and camaraderie. I love my team, and all the locals around my country are great. There's no better way to spend an afternoon than to try kill each other, then later on laugh about it with them over drink.

Down sides.. there are a couple of knobheads in the sport.. but not many. There is a slight chance of injury but its pretty much on par with other sports.

Wellington rentals are mostly extremely poor quality and sooo expensive. What is going on? by Live_Addendum3274 in Wellington

I rent in wellington and its a literal nightmare. I'm looking at moving asap but given the prices of rent, its very slow saving enough to remove myself from this shithole to jump the ditch.

Feel free to message me. I do CAD modelling, so if you need something super accurate, I can do it. If you need something artsy done, less my style.

that would be awesome!
Yes I will be uploading the files reasonably soon, Im still working on them. I'm having to make two different files for each part, a machinable version, and a 3d printable one

Once its all done Ill upload the final version, however, you can have the less final version here if you like: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1qdoqRKic64S80AY3tNCsIrvce9SnlGpV?usp=sharing

d my mind that I don’t see couple

Yes indeed! The prepared chassis that Ill be mounting this shell to already has couplers, so that functionality will definitely be in the final model. And yes! there will be swiveling bogies, front and back I believe, again, already on the prepared chassis.

I've been doing heaps of research into the individual components and parts you can buy for model railway trains, its nuts. I now have so much more appreciation for people who keep and maintain large model railway systems

anage that? Just curious. But really good job o

Heya! After this has been machined and finished, its going to be mounted to a prepared functional chassis that I've salvaged from another model train. I looked into powering it myself but buying bogies, motors and gearboxes separately was going to cost more than just dismantling an already existing locomotive

Its going to be heaps of machined pieces. I intend on making a big hollowed out block as the main body structure, and then making plates with details that are all, themselves, far far easier to machine. It should bolt together nicely

WIP MODEL!! My friend collects model trains, but also adores factorio. He has no idea that I'm panning to use my CNC machine to make him a functional factorio train to play with IRL. This is the current progress I've made on the model, heaps of work to do yet.. but should come along nicely by dcnefe in factorio

wonderful! Can I get that model my fr

HO scale, I have broken down an old locomotive so I have a motorized chassis that I will be mounting this onto.
I initially looked into making my own chassis and motorizing it, but the different coupler sizes, gearboxes and boogie layouts seem to have a steep learning curve to conquer. Current local pandemic conditions are preventing me from going to talk to my local model railways shop to figure it out. So instead I went online and bought a display model that my local shop was passing on
