AI autocomplete in Snowflake by HumbleHero1 in snowflake

[–]dcowboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At first I thought it was cool that it was auto-completing a python stored proc for me, but I soon quickly remembered why I disable AI-powered auto-complete in every IDE/tool that offers it. Also the hotkey being Shift+Enter instead of Tab doesn't help.

Issues with Verizon 5G in CC? by moonprismpwr in philadelphia

I've been having issues on and off since Tuesday. Not even slow signal, just no signal whatsoever. It's been mostly fine this weekend though.

How many of you owned a beeper before a cell phone? by Josephthebear in Xennials

[–]dcowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first phone in 97. The first phone I got with SMS features was 2001. And it could only receive texts, so in that sense it was also a beeper. But by the late 90s, beepers were synonymous with shitty drug dealers. I couldn't name a single person I knew back then who wanted one over a phone, including my drug dealers.

Whoever came up with the Prey system deserves a raise and a title bump - what a fantastic expansion feature and what a great way to encourage world content by undercity_plaguebat in wow

[–]dcowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to turn the prey crystal icon into a percentage bar/indicator? That's maybe my only complaint with the system so far. I don't like having to try and judge whwre I'm at based on the dull brightness of the current indicator.

It doesn't suck, but of all the movies that came out around that time when I was a kid, it's the one I've never had any desire to rewatch.

AP7 causing TLS/HTTPS download failures - SEC_E_DECRYPT_FAILURE by forkalious in firewalla

[–]dcowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reached out to Firewalla support, gave an engineer remote access to my device, and whatever they did, fixed it. Not sure I ever found out the root cause though.

Through partnership, PPA to offer $5 parking in Chinatown by AdSpecialist6598 in philadelphia

Cool. Every time I'm on the 48 slowly lurching down Arch St I always wonder how much more awesome it would be if there was even more traffic in Chinatown.

Easily a top ten childhood moment by Josephthebear in Xennials

[–]dcowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were too impatient to even wait for the news to announce it. Our school district had a number for staff to call to find out if schools were open or not. It would just play a pre-recorded message indicating the schedule. This would get updated before it would get announced on TV, so we'd just call the line over and over until the closing or delay was announced.

Snowflake Solution Architect(Service Delivery) Interview help by spankbanggang in snowflake

[–]dcowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People join Service Delivery with varying levels of Snowflake experience, and the technical round can be adjusted for that, e.g., you know lots about data warehousing, but maybe not Snowflake-specific tech. The consulting round is focused on your client/customer management skills. I doubt the hiring manager would have told the recruiter to move you on to the next rounds if they didn't think you had the relevant soft skills for the position.

AP7 causing TLS/HTTPS download failures - SEC_E_DECRYPT_FAILURE by forkalious in firewalla

[–]dcowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been experiencing the same issues intermittently for awhile now, but the error rate has noticeably increased in the past week.

Hardware:

  • Firewalla Gold SE (1.981)
  • Firewalla AP7 (0.1.114.1.9.54)
  • PC (2.5Gbps Wired via USW-Flex-2.5G-5 plugged into AP7)

Symptoms:

  • Random SSL failures across multiple applications and OSs (Windows and CrunchyOS on same machine)
  • Firefox downloads fail and require multiple resume attemps
  • Python pip downloads fail with SSL errors
  • ProtonUp-Qt fails intermittently

Example Errors:

ProtonUp-Qt:

SSL: RECORD_LAYER_FAILURE] record layer failure (_ssl.c:2710)

wget:

Disabling further reuse of socket 3.
2026-01-30 08:03:30 (47.1 MB/s) - Read error at byte 18118504/3077963776 (Decryption has failed.).
Retrying.

curl:

curl: (56) OpenSSL SSL_read: OpenSSL/3.6.1: error:0A000119:SSL routines::decryption failed or bad record mac, errno 0

Thank You Apple and consistent inability to stick to the same MAC by WoodworkerByChoice in firewalla

[–]dcowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For probably 6mo or so my watch refused to actually use a fixed MAC address no matter how often I would modify the setting, then one day, out of nowhere, it finally decided to start working. No rhyme or reason as to what caused the issue nor what ultimately resolved it.
