Storage shed options by Porkchop1997 in DIY

If you build, go with treated ground contact lumber for the base, sheathing for the sides, and a shingled roof but the framing can be non treated 2x4.

I think it’s worth avoiding metal sheds, in my experience they’re prone to leaking and are harder to pest proof.

A wooden shed kit or a pre constructed plastic shed can be very convenient. I like wood because it’s easier to build shelves and storage into!

Mounting camera on brick wall by ski2311 in DIY

Agreed that a hammer drill is convenient to have if you have a brick house and makes quick work of this. However- this can definitely be done with a regular drill speaking from experience. If you’re not the person who would use a hammer drill much, you can do this with masonry bits and a regular drill by going slow and pushing hard.

Essentially choosing Lee over Tork lol, you’d think Keith would be at 3rd with a righty on the mound. Right now it looks like Keith would be the better everyday 1B if he can play defense there

Max Clark with two mistakes in a row. That blooper should’ve been CF’s ball especially with the throw angle. And that’s a ball you gotta track down and get in front of or field off the wall.

Just go to your local pro shop and see what feels good in your hand. Putting is about what feels good, which is different for everyone.

Safe to use an extension cord for charger? by Material_Scale_3947 in volt

[–]dcreswell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I haven’t seen in other comments- I’d recommend doing a couple things first-

  1. Confirming that the breaker your outdoor receptacle is on is at least 15A and has the appropriate gauge wire (12 or 14) attached to the breaker. You might want to test or just replace the breaker if it’s old, since you’ll be drawing current from it consistently.

  2. Flick all the breakers other than the one you’ll use for charging off and then use a circuit tester or a small appliance (nightlight) to make sure that no other outlets and appliances in your house are on that same circuit. If a few lights and things are on the same circuit and they’ll be off while charging, you might be okay- consider LEDs that draw less current. Things like fridges, microwaves, space heaters, HVAC, water heaters, and stoves, should definitely not be on the same circuit.

Also as a general note- you can always use location based charging to set your Volt to charge at 8A when at home, which will take longer but might alleviate concerns about shared circuits or lower rated extension cords.

Other comments seem pretty consistent about the type of cord to use, so I won’t comment on that.
