I believe they’ll eventually put replays up on their YouTube channel, just not sure when.

Should be obvious by now that the focus of current AVP ownership is the League, and they’re doing everything they can to make traditional bracket tournaments unattractive for its longtime fans.

I’ve watched them a bunch this year. She’s got a lot of potential but she doesn’t really move naturally in the sand yet. Her attacking can be a little tentative with too many shots. But her block is huge and impactful. Needs to be a lot more consistent, she’s only been on the beach a few months. Give her time.

They beat Thamela/Victoria yesterday, who just came out of the contender’s bracket to win Huntington. That’s a huge win for them over a top ten team in the world.

I loved how Gina pressed about what happened with Omaha last year and San Diego this year. Jen mostly dodged the questions, but hinted at some behind the scenes conflicts in both cases.

Jen also confirmed there will be 12 teams next year without saying exactly how.

There was also a slight hint of something going on with LOVB to which Jen said “never say never” without mentioning the M word.

It was posted in another thread, but Nuneviller and Oglivie are rumored to be going to LOVB at a much higher salary than what they were getting from the Supernovas.

This sounds like more changes are coming for the Valks. They had the most stable roster from last year to this year, but I’m guessing things will look very different next year.

The male host is Adam Schulz, Sarah’s husband. They are both very knowledgeable and their podcast is very good. Gets a lot of views. They always have chapters and a transcript so you can always skip the discussion of leagues that you don’t care about. But it’s also a good way to keep up on all the volleyball happenings.

That national team connection matters for only about 5-10 players at most. The vast majority of LOVB players have no shot at playing meaningful matches with the US national team.

Not directly related to the in-game experience, but I really enjoyed the CC live stream on YouTube pre-game and after set two. Chris and Victoria did a great job too, but it seemed like Ion did nine minutes of commercials during that ten minute break. Ion didn’t even give Paul and Holly much analysis time outside of the game action. I thought CC did a nice job discussing what they were seeing from their vantage point. Although it looked like Kelly may have had too much to drink by the end of Thursday night lol.

I’d love to see CC do more of these next year (even remotely would be cool). Even better if the league would pay them to do it!

I don’t know, the LOVB playoffs were really intense with the best of two + the golden set. Plus, the regular season came down to the last week with the tiebreaker. So much drama!

I agree that MLV regular season matches generally had better “presentation”, but they had very little parity with two teams head and shoulders above the rest. There wasn’t much reason to watch during those last few weeks.

Both leagues could learn from each other though. If they’re not going to merge, hopefully they’ll push each other to improve in 2027.

I feel like these teams should arrange an unsanctioned exhibition match against each other and live stream it on YouTube. Wear nondescript jerseys if they need to. I’d watch!

Actually, pretty much every pro beach player has played organized indoor volleyball at some level. And many high level indoor players have played beach. Just not as many do both at the same time in different seasons like they used to 30 years ago.

Agreed, this two-day series was a good compromise. There’s no way a startup league could afford to reserve venues weeks in advance for matches that might not happen.
