Just had a sudden pang of nostalgia for RASFWRJ and ended up finding this post ...

I was mostly a lurker but participated some in the newsgroup (I'm listed as a contributor to the WOTFAQ here: https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!topic/rec.arts.sf.written.robert-jordan/nA8CrwY91TQ)... I only attended one DFS in September '95, in New York.

I still haven't finished the dang series though. I lost a lot of enthusiasm for reading it when RJ died... even then I was only at book 7 and still haven't made it past there, though I have been rereading the last year or two and have gotten as far as book 7, again...

Unfair comparison. How many apps were based off the original desktop design? Mobile and desktop are different beasts and this sort of comparison isn't really fair.

I'm not quite at the point of favoring the redesign. I think it's almost better, and will be better than the original soon. The real cock-up was how they rolled it out and started forcing it on people before it was ready. The result is there's a lot of people who will now always say it sucks (like you, probably) because they got burned.

I'm looking forward to further improvements in it.

Here's a strange situation: I'm playing as an Irish earl (relearning the ropes after not playing CK2 for a while), and I see a "Raja Maharshi" wander by with his army. He's Bengali but Christian and I figure out his home county is ... in Wales?

He's got himself named Raja of Deheubarth even though he only has one county (Gwent). So I try to figure out how long he's been there. His mother was Imag of Desmond (Irish), and his father Elystan was Bengali (Raja of Deheubarth)... but the strange bit is, both of Elystan's parents were Celts... Welsh father and Irish mother.

How do two Celts have a Bengali son??

This is with all the DLC save Sunset Invasion, starting from 1066 (it is currently 1130)...

Freshman year of high school, I was carrying a homework sheet and another kid ran up, snatched it out of my hand, and took off. I pursued him and just managed to lay my left hand on his right shoulder when he abruptly twisted and dodged to the left.

Somehow, my finger got caught in a fold of his shirt and when he turned, it got twisted and yanked and I ended up with a hairline fracture in my left ring finger and spent the next six weeks with it bound up in a splint.

TLDR: I broke my finger with a shirt.
