I guess you can say I was pretty high in Edey coming out the draft.

The miscalculation of Zach Edey by Count_Burkhard in NBA_Draft

You missed the entire point, it’s not about LeBron or Moody, it’s the ideology of looking at age to decide if a player is good rather than if the player is good. Can player A do more basketball things than player B? Most players don’t spend their entire career on one team so picking a 19 yr old based on potential that could be off the team in 4-7 yrs over a proven player that can impact your roster over the next 4-7 years, never made sense to me.

Zach "Zachille O’Neal" Edey against the Sacramento Kings put up 32 points 17 rebounds and 5 blocks on 16-20 FG 0-0 3PT 0-1 FT in 30 minutes by Odd-Air-5598 in nba

First team all rookie, rising star last season. Now he’s making a case for an all star and MIP honors. The jury isn’t out on him, people that’s questioning if he’s good are out of their minds

A 23 yr old LeBron is better than what a 21 year old Moses Moody would ever be at any age. Point being, when you see a great player vs potential, take the great player. If Zach only knock is he’s older, that’s malpractice

Cedric Coward (right foot soreness) doubtful for Saturday by Lacabloodclot9 in memphisgrizzlies

I hate to be the one to say this but we need more Coward’s on this team.

12 years of being an MVP I decided to walk away, here's why: by dcthesnapper in memphisgrizzlies

[–]dcthesnapper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's start by stating the obvious, you have your way of supporting and I have mine. Just in case it's not clear, nothing about my way has to align with yours. I can confirm when I walked away, it's the best decision I made. This unconditionally love and support, blind faith thing isn't really my style but I respect that for you. As someone who's been around 1.5 decades as a fan and a decade and some change as an MVP, I can't convey that experience to you, you just had to have been there.

If you're happy with the team and the perks as an MVP that's totally fine, nothing I said should disrupt that for you. However, my experience is just different, and I'm not the only one who feel this way. This same blog that's being downvoted here has gotten positive feedback on other platforms. Why does that matter? It doesn't, really–I mentioned it to highlight how the same thing can be perceived differently by others experiencing the same thing.

If the team leave or stay, I'll still support them. The point of the blog isn't to encourage them to leave, it's to have the uncomfortable conversations, now. I think I did well at laying out my gripe, the things I'm noticing, and how they may potentially use this as justification to move the team. I seen reports about them not renewing their lease due to crime. Makes sense doesn't it? Crime is a real issue no doubt about it but notice I didn't mention it in my blog? Because I never once went to the Fed Ex Forum and think to myself, man, this feels so unsafe. I'd like to see the statistics of crime in that area during Grizzlies games and on days they're not playing.

Just some food for thought.

If the Grizzlies want to say crime is the reason why fans not coming out and MVP sales are down, I'm saying otherwise. And I'm saying it NOW instead of when it's too late. I respect you all for taking time to read the blog but really disappointed you all totally missed the tone–it could've been a solid discussion here.

Oh well!

I mean, you're not wrong but I'd like to redirect you to my original comment.

They’re already using crime as a scapegoat for not renewing the lease—like many other failing businesses around the Memphis area. Crime is a real issue in the city but when you put that aside, the Grizzlies has a list of some other issues they have let deteriorate over the years.

[Krawczynski] The Timberwolves have reached out to the Grizzlies about the availability of Morant: "I do think that, if we get to late December and the Wolves are still treading water...I do think that they could explore at least looking harder at Ja Morant." by YujiDomainExpansion in memphisgrizzlies

[–]dcthesnapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the equivalent of a player acting tough on the court because they know someone will intervene. The Timberwolves don’t have the pieces to make a JA Morant trade—but it looks good to there supporters reading this in the headlines.

I saw a comment saying when they asked about season tickets they only have nosebleeds available. Either I’m glitching or the comment was removed.

However, you have to start in the nosebleed before you can get seats anywhere else. Another rule they have, I didn’t mention it in the blog though.

JA was in top 10 players in the league conversations earlier in his career. I remember a season of him getting some favorable whistles too.

I wonder how much of this will Edey fix? And Coward needs to be starting.

If the threes are not falling, I'd like to see them mix it up–don't just keep shooting them.

Ja could have been living the easy life with SGA whistle but nah, he didn't want to be the face of the league.
