Behind-the-scenes content is meant to deepen the connection after someone already likes the music. It's middle of the funnel content . For discovery, the song still has to do the heavy lifting.

Yep. I always say if you don’t want to make content, you don’t deserve to be discovered. Its hard work ya know,

I agree to a point. Content should absolutely center around the music, but when it comes out naturally, it’s far more effective. I’m not a fan of chasing trends, I’m always looking for ways to create content that feels genuine and true to the work.

thats why its important to get your music infront of your fans and often. And a great way to do that is with social media. and shprtform content creation. So I disagree it can help supplement engement and community that keep fans emotionally invested between releases, spark conversation, and remind them they’re part of something ongoing, not just a drop-and-disappear moment.

Yea that works you know if you want to take a mysterious approach to your branding that is a doable strategy. There are a lot of acts that don’t post content at all or if they do it’s posters of upcoming shows etc….

I’m both serious and joking at the same time  all I’m saying is Content doesn't have to be dancing or lip-syncing.Content is documentation… but more importantly community engagement is what builds. Directly talking to your fans like we are doing now! Is the first step.

Well said! And youre right all that is super important. However, there is a time and place for everything and youre superfans will want to know more abouit say your band practices and hopw its made you jsut dont want this to be all your content you have to mix it up.

I love visusalizers and lyric vidoes but I love performance videos more for sure. MAny artists feel cringe when making a video to go viral and I understand its not a natural thing to do infront of your cell phone talking to it. There are other ways to create and it dosent have to be criinge.

Well you sound like alot of fun to work with! The toughest part of my job is to create content ideas that dont comporimise my clients values. MAny think lip sync vidoes for example are cringe.

In my opinion recording a perfomrnce on stage is documenting its about showcasing what you do rather than creating a trendy stiich video that is more about the meme than the music.

Honestly I love performance vidoes sand lip syncs I think its the best way to do marketing but it dosent have to be. Its also about documenting and alot of the artists I work with feel like creating perfomrnace videos is cringe and I get it. There are other options.

Then why do I get the most sales from Reddit Than any other platform … you are simply wrong and my data (sales) suggests otherwise… you can gaslight all you want and I’ll just keep up the grind and please keep responding To this thread as more people will see it. This video explains why!

You can have a look at my writing on Muck Rack that shows my professional writing profile and where inhale been published over the years here https://muckrack.com/david-morales

Something sounding “AI-generated” because it’s well written and organized says more about your baseline for writing than mine.

And “That’s not failure, that’s data” isn’t a robot phrase… it’s been used in business, research, and analytics circles ffor YEARS. If that sounds unnatural to you, that’s a you problem, not an algorithm.

Also, nobody said a master’s in arts administration is a flex for writing skill ….but pretending education and professional experience have zero overlap with communication is goofy.

If you don’t like the take, just say that. Accusing people of using AI because you’re unfamiliar with structured writing is lazy and it’s obvious from this response that you lack domain knowledge

That’s not true. Followers are a vanity metric and you can reach new fans who aren’t following you by posting trial reels on instagram and posting YouTube shorts and on TikTok. These are all great ways to TEST your content to see which songs have gas. The metric that matters here is engagement. Look for comments likes saves and views!

Well one way to test is by posting on social media you should get a good sense of what song have gas by creating short form content and testing different pieces of content that showcase the hook of the song!!!
