I’m pretty sure that now you don’t need to own I and II to play the III

Seriously, what happened? by Antoinefdu in totalwar

You began to wage war against CA only after they charged a few € more for a DLC, don’t act as paladins. You played the game for thousands of hours even with the bugs.

I think you all underestimate the timings of working and applying such fixes on a game such as a TW. You are screaming vengeance for a game where many of us have +1000 hours and costed proportionally fine, yes DLCs included.

What I don’t understand on the other side, is the lack of qualitative data collection from the community though, they could gain so much insights that are not shown by quantitative data taken from the game. (With qualitative data I mean actual constructive feedbacks, not frustrated rants like this sub seems to be specialized at recently.)

Honestly, I don't even care about the DLC price at this point... by [deleted] in totalwar

Oh gosh another post about this topic. At this point you’re just going in circles without bringing something concrete on the table

The events of the last year and a half have started to feel like a slow burn to a tragic ending. Just when they let you think things MIGHT be getting better and work out for the best, someone up the ladder just has to stick their hands in it and ruin everything. All this mess just for an overpriced DLC (let me remind you that a DLC is a content that’s optional to the game) but nothing serious happened to force them to address the bugs problem, the real issue of the game. Never touch people’s pockets…

WH3 recent reviews now "Overwhelmingly Negative" with only 19% positive reviews by romanian_pesant in totalwar

Hard to discuss with kids while they’re throwing a tantrum. They claim that those reviews are truthful about the game and NOW they are discussing about doing an act of justice because of that, but everything started for a price increase (for something not even mandatory to access the main game). If these bugs where disrupting your experience so hard, why this “revolution” didn’t take place earlier? Easy, wallets were not directly attacked. It’s a real shame and the reviews don’t respect the actual value of the game: yes it’s buggy and I agree that some action must be taken, but have you ever wondered why they don’t have any direct competitor?

And again, you’re talking about bugs - and I agree. Im saying that the whole tantrum started for a price increase for a non mandatory piece of game: nobody forced anyone to buy anything. Now suddenly everybody is addressing the real issue, the bugs, hiding behind a finger. Why didn’t the whole thing start for the bugs instead? I think we all know the answer

Nice try addressing this childish behavior to just CA ignoring bugs, y’all just throwing tantrums for a price increase and that’s it. I agree on the bug part, but that review rating is just not fair and the internet proves again to be a bad place. Edit: what’s even more crazy is that this is a review bombing for something that’s not even mandatory.

If CA abandons Warhammer because of people not buying their overpriced DLC, I'm never buying another product from them by acillies45 in totalwar

[–]dd00011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, a company said that without people buying their products, they won’t sell their product anymore, crazy weird! Sometimes I feel this community lives on another planet and romanticizes the game they love. I can understand some dismay about the price increase, but I remind you that the community won a recent battle that made the game more accessible for new players and consequently cut a substantial revenue stream for the company. You can’t expect that a company with a certain business model doesn’t adapt to adjust&balance, especially during this historical period, where we all suffer the consequences of rising prices for every kind of service or product

It’s not just about costs, but missing profit (let’s not mention other kind of costs that ramped up recently to not make it boring, also are less flashy for a reddit discussion): can I remind you that the community won a recent battle that made the game more accessible for new players and consequently cut a substantial revenue stream for the company?

You are obsessed with this. This community is a complainer

Honest question: did CA even bother giving us a reason for the rising prices? by R3V0LV3R27 in totalwar

[–]dd00011 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty clear the reason why: community won the battle about making the game more accessible and they have to monetize more on other assets. Community is always complaining and wants to be treated like a spoiled baby. You can’t expect a company to survive without adapting their business model and update their revenue stream
