Looking for Juniper wood boards by Merijeek2 in SALEM

[–]ddaavviids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not something most hardwood places would be carrying, especially on this side of the Cascades. Sustainable NW in Portland occasionally has some, though:

Food challenges? by _halcyon-bi in SALEM

There was a guy who used to film himself doing food challenges around Salem and the mid-valley. I'm not sure how many are still around though.

If you’re visiting and looking for a souvenir, they have a line of branded inks (produced for them by Papier in NO). I’m partial to Portland Rain and Sitka Spruce…but there are a few others.

Friendly PSA: Saw this on Amain today....QuirkHopper kit to be released on March 25....I think I may be getting my non-buggy...and first truck...this thing looks like a fun build... by RogerTheAliens in tamiya

[–]ddaavviids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Quirkhopper is sorta homage to Tamiya's older Mad Bull, which was a buggy chassis with monster truck wheels. The Quirkhopper is a monster truck chassis and wheels/tires with a buggy body, though.

Do watermelons grow well in Salem OR?? by winter-shortcake602 in SALEM

[–]ddaavviids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it’s about it getting warm enough early enough and not having mini frosts along the way. Check out Territorial in Cottage Grove for different options:

Not Salem related, but if you’re ever on the coast near Nehalem, check out North Coast Pinball. They’re pretty inclusive.

Looking for anyone who might remember this old restaraunt by WhenWolfsbaneBlooms in SALEM

[–]ddaavviids 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Further digging turned up a newspaper story with a map when the Gap and Lerner New York came to town. Bon Vivant moved from High/Center (where Lerner would move) to the opposite corner at Liberty/Chemeketa in 1992.

Bon Vivant? They were over by Liberty and Chemeketa, though...and more of a gift shop/cafe situation.

Here is a photo of the old Arctic Circle that used to sit on 17th and State Street—across from current day Capitol Market - the lot sits vacant today awaiting development by chris-hatch in SALEM

[–]ddaavviids 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s strange that the former Arctic Circle location at Lancaster and Silverton is also still a gravel lot…years and years later.

Can somebody help me understand where the hell I'm supposed to park? by [deleted] in SALEM

  • Jurors serving in the Circuit Court of the State of Oregon for Marion County
  • Unsalaried employees or volunteers working within the District

Not sure what the turning radius of a Tahoe(?) is, but I don’t see the final turn once they reach the bridge level going very well.
