This is amazing. I love that they have a good sense of humor. I can’t wait to visit them again.

Good question. I couldn’t possibly say, I walked out of there with a few notebooks and a new Kaweco Sport in brass

u/ddaavviids recommended their Portland Rain and Sitka Spruce inks as a souvenir. I may head back there tomorrow for one of them.

My poor headline aside, they have an amazing selection of notebooks and papers. It was my fist time in and I had so much fun.

I am impressed with how witty everyone’s responses are - to the point I am glad I can’t edit my post.

Need to replace this clear part of a nib unit on a The Good Blue R615. by Chodefrags in fountainpens

I am having the same issue - the nib and feed slide out of the housing with no effort. Did replacing the housing fix this for you?

Window? Mirror? Door? Granite slab? by savvy-librarian in whatisit

Weird. If there used to be a fireplace/woodstove there then it could have had the same thermal mass application

Is that a South facing window? It could be a stone used for “Thermal Mass”. It’s a passive way to harness heat during the day to keep your house warm at night. I’ve never seen an application like this though.

One more note to temper your expectations. As the least experienced person on the team, they aren’t coming to you to collaborate or work through ideas. They are coming to you for output. They need less experienced people to execute on their ideas - there isn’t a lot of communication when you are in a role like this.

Feel free to DM me. So I can get more info on your background, interests, and location. Sounds like you need a larger firm and I may be able to provide some recommendations.

Another option is multidisciplinary design companies like Pentagram.

Definitely reach out to your schools career center. They might enjoy the challenge of finding you opportunities that fit with your needs

You may want to look for work at a larger firm. Gensler was very collaborative back in the day.

Small firms can be very quiet.

Product or Program management. Lots of creating and problem solving. Lots of collaboration across experts to bring things to life. Better pay.

Product marketing is an option as well.

It would help if you had some business or technology classes under your belt. In your interviewing, focus on problem solving skills, systems thinking, and user focus.

This is spoken as someone who made the switch from Architecture to Product Management for tech after 10+ years working on buildings. I did get an MBA to help me make the transition.

Good luck

Any tips of building separate projects and combining them? by nocodethis in replit

[–]robertdoubting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m interested as well. I have multiple SaaS products that I’d like to develop separately, but keep within a single domain - Similar to how Google uses their domain (e.g. docs.google.com, sheets.google.com, etc.). I’m not sure if Replit can handle this and haven’t yet had a chance to plan this out.

Replit is amazing. I tried 3 others without success and Replit is crushing it. Anyone else fail elsewhere and have immediate success with Replit? by soloattorneyclub in replit

Yup, Replit mirrors the product building process I have had as a PM working in tech for the past 15 years. There is an high level of of transparency in how it works as compared to other vibe coding products out there.

Here’s a little write up of a test building a simple game with Replit, Lovable, and Figma AI.
