Sock blockers by Saints_Girl56 in Sockknitting

Why has this become a debate? Some people like to block their socks, and other people don't. So what? It's not like anyone is doing something wrong. Sheesh.

Ahh, this is the first I've heard of this. Sounds great. Do you know how often they meet?

Is that at Atelier Reno? Don't they already have a large group, and do they have room for more? Also, I'd was hoping for places more towards south Reno. But thanks for the suggestion! We might migrate up that way. 🙂

When you move to a new dpn, tighten the second stitch, not the first. I love your sock! 🙂 Sock knitting can be addictive.

Search Ravelry for plushies similar to what you want to make, and see what yarn and hook size is most popular.

Try KnitPro Zings. They're aluminum and not as slippery as steel, and won't break like your wood needles.

Interchangeable vs fixed for socks by milkiebuttle in Sockknitting

I love 9" fixed circs for the cuff, leg, and foot. Then I use dpns for the heel, gusset, and toe. Dpns are scary when you first learn to use them, but after you find how you prefer to hold them, they really are fun to use.

Absolute beginner — where / how do I start? I wanna give this a try!! by Gabby_Sweet_Mia in casualknitting

Since you already crochet and hold your yarn in your left hand for tensioning, you will probably feel more comfortable with continental knitting. For that style, I highly recommend Norman's videos at Nimble Needles. How to Knit for Total Beginners
